It’s no secret that many of us will be staying indoors for the foreseeable future. This, however, is an opportunity to create our own personal sanctuaries. We all want a cozy and inviting home that makes us feel relaxed when we walk through the door after a long day. Every room should feel welcoming. Luckily, Antoinette Allande of Antoinette Allande Interiors is offering advice on furnishings that can easily be purchased to freshen up our spaces and make our homes as cozy and inviting as possible without having to leave home. Everything you need to know to create your own at-home oasis is right here.
What to Remember Room by Room
According to Antoinette, the living room should always have beautiful throw pillows to lounge on and a comforting throw blanket to snuggle into while watching a movie or reading a book. The bedroom should be an ideal relaxation place where we can sleep away our hectic days, and the bathroom is a room that should feel serene + tranquil, making it possible to indulge in a warm bath, shower, steam, or simply enjoy calm lighting.

We all need our sleep to feel our best every day, so our bed situation is super important. There are so many great mattresses available on-line at the moment that can be tried out for 90 days. Antoinette’s favorite is the Saatva Luxury Firm.
Bedding is equally important, so it’s necessary to determine if you prefer sateen a silky feel}, percale {if you run hot}, linen { a textured tactile experience}, or flannel {extra warmth and coziness}. New sheets make everyone happy — there is truly something very satisfying about hopping into a bed with fresh, clean, and cozy sheets.

For the Bathroom
We should all be washing our hands frequently as a preventive measure against all germs, but we should be especially vigilant now. Since we will be spending so much time by the sink, it should at least be a luxurious, aromatherapeutic experience. There are quite a few great smelling hand washes + hand lotions on the market to lather your skin in.
Plus, a pretty hand towel and a candle will complete your vanity sink’s decor + make the whole bathroom experience that much more luxurious.
Finally, it’s not very often that we get to take a long, relaxing bath or shower. Treat yourself to some gorgeous body wash and luxuriously soft towels, too.
