This is a gorgeous, chic salon sitting at 718 Washington Street, hence the name. {It is also the area code from where she was raised — talk about a sign.} Featuring a full-service nail salon, dry bar, and makeup, Michelle and her crew are ready to welcome Hoboken girls and guys into the salon for some serious pampering and relaxation. This Washington Street venture is a full-service salon, specializing in nails, makeup, and lashes. The salon is immaculate and inviting, making all who visit feel welcome and relaxed. And yes, it’s just down the block from Modern Nails, but offers a more varied experience {with hair + makeup as a part of the menu options}.
The salon is luxurious yet affordable and brings together women {and men, too} who are looking for some much-needed pampering. The design is very mellow, with exposed brick lining one wall behind the cognac leather chairs and reclaimed wood benches.

The salon boasts a variety of options for manis + pedis, including gel, Kiara’s powder dip {aka SNS}, long-lasting regular Essie and OPI polish, acrylic, and even CBD manicures and pedicures. Guests even have the option to customize nail styles with designs and ombre. In addition to that, 718 offers waxing, makeup, lashes, and even special occasion packages for weddings, proms, and other events. All services are by appointment so be sure to schedule your visit.
How 718 Came to Be
From Wall Street to Washington Street, Michelle, an Edgewater resident, is taking Hoboken by storm. Born in Manhattan and raised in the Bronx, Michelle is a woman on a mission. She built her career in the financial world at TD Ameritrade. She was a driving force in her field but realized that her passion for business and beauty could blend together and create the perfect place. She purchased 718 from the original owners last spring and opened up in June 2019.
“Hoboken is the perfect spot for me. I love the vibe here,” Michelle shared with us. Her first day on Washington was filled with excitement, friends, and celebrations and Hoboken Girl was lucky enough to be part of this milestone.
Before opening up 718, Michelle worked in finance — but always had a passion for beauty, which began with the creation of her makeup and skincare line — Posh Squad. This luxury, vegan, hypoallergenic skincare line is housed in the salon and available for purchase in-house. The Pore Perfecting Peel Off Mask is a must-purchase + her long-lasting lipsticks — Hanky Panky + Gigi are the perfect hues for spring.

Our Visit to 718
We recently visited 718 for a CBD mani + pedi and had quite the relaxing experience. The pedicure began with a relaxing foot bath, complete with floating rose petals and all. And yes, there was a plastic wrap on the pedicure bowls changed out for each pedi = sanitary WIN.

After cleaning up the nails and cuticles, the legs and feet are treated with a Reiki-charged hemp cream {and is an organic, vegan, paraben, phthalate, and gluten-free lotion} and massage. The CBD lotion will alleviate stress and pain as well as bring a deeper state of relaxation.
The manicure was just as relaxing and used the same CBD lotion as the pedicure. And whether or not you’re a CBD connoisseur or newbie, the CBD mani + pedi is something to look forward to after a stressful day at work.
Hours + Appointments
The salon is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00AM-8:00PM and Sundays from 10:00AM-5:00PM. Appointments are recommended for all services as they book up quickly. The salon also gives student and teacher discounts as well as discounts for posting a review online.
