Beauty products are found and purchased everywhere — online, in stores, and the like, but when looking for a natural routine sans chemicals and perfumes, it’s a bit harder to find. To freshen up or revive your beauty sitch, Taproot Organics is a great spot to begin — as they’re an all-natural beauty company founded locally — started by couple Daniel and Zaida Grunes. The beauty product store features handmade soaps, shampoos, and much more, with a retail location at 377 Broadway in Bayonne as well as a retail + soap kitchen spot {where the magic happens} at 511 Communipaw Avenue in Jersey City. We recently visited the Bayonne store to check out what it had to offer, so read on to discover more about Taproot’s amazing, natural products.
What You’ll Find at Taproot Organics
One step into Taproot Organics and you’re hit with a variety of delicious scents and colors — greeted by a soothing vibe. All Taproot products are made using organic ingredients and real food {yes, you read that right}, and Taproot runs the gamut of providing something for just about anyone: from Shea butter soap made with CBD oil to a chamomile-infused shampoo bar to products that are vegan-friendly.

This is also a choice place to stock up on mud masks for your friends, check out a fresh linen spray, or even try an all-natural clay deodorant. The soap scents can’t be beaten, ranging from Warm Mint {sweet mint and smoked cedar wood} to Tea Tree Bentonite Clay or Patchouli – or get a variety bag of sample soaps for just $9 and try them all {we’ve sampled a few and found them to be very pleasant and non-irritating to skin}.
There is also an entire section dedicated to CBD products, including CBD Living Water and gummies, as well as homemade massage oil and creams for the ultimate relaxation.
Taproot also features a large line of beard care products {for the dudes in your life} ranging from oil to conditioning shampoo beard wash {made WITH beer – Beer’d Wash, so it’s called} to beard balm.
Products from local businesses can also be found in the store, including soy candles from Jersey City-based Little Batch Candle Company, housing a wide collection of unique scents like “Sweater Weather” {cinnamon, cloves, pumpkin} and Snickerdoodle. As if that’s not enough for your senses, Taproot produces a collection of beer soaps in a range of “scents” – each batch is made using a full growler of beer from North Bergen’s NJ Beer Company with scents like ale, IPA, and stout.

Taproot is open from 11:00AM-7:00PM at the Bayonne location Thursday-Saturday and 11:00AM-5:00PM on Sundays, as well as 3:00PM-7:00PM at the Jersey City location on Fridays and 10:00M-3:00PM on Saturdays and Sundays – go get your pamper on.
