Back in September, we created a comprehensive list of spots in the Hoboken + Jersey City area that offer unique waffle dishes. But in an area as packed with food options as ours, that list is ever-expanding. And now, a new spot just hit the Jersey City food scene as of last week: Waffle It + Co.
Waffle It + Co. is a breakfast shop specializing in Belgian Liège waffles and crepes. For the past few years, the store has operated out of Jersey City’s District Kitchen Market, serving up a diverse menu of crepes, waffles, breakfast sandwiches, and more. Now, Waffle It + Co. has ventured to open its own brick-and-mortar storefront, located at 232.5 Pavonia Avenue in Hamilton Park. The waffle spot officially opened as of November 3rd, replacing Klado House of Brigadeiros. Read on for what we know about this new Jersey City breakfast spot.

About Waffle It + Co.
Steve and Jenny, the founders of Waffle It + Co., come from two distinctive backgrounds: Steve is a born-and-raised Belgian, and Jenny is a born-and-raised American. It’s clear that Waffle It + Co. draws on its diverse cultural background to produce an equally diverse menu full of breakfast treats, lunch items, and more.
For the past few years, Waffle It + Co. has operated out of District Kitchen, a Jersey City market located in the Harborside complex. After building up a loyal customer base, Steve and Jenny have decided to open the first-ever independent Waffle It + Co. storefront. Per Jersey Digs, the brick-and-mortar location will replace Klado House of Brigadeiros at 232.5 Pavonia Avenue in Hamilton Square.
What to Expect
The District Kitchen Waffle It + Co. menu, has, of course, a slew of waffle options, which range from a savory Mediterranean waffle to a sweet Berlin Banana waffle. But beyond the namesake breakfast delicacy, Waffle It + Co. boasts a wide variety of items, like freshly-baked baguette sandwiches, omelets, and even a spaghetti platter.

At this time, the new location exclusively offers Belgian Liège waffles with sweet assorted toppings that guests can choose themselves. Waffles are sold by the half dozen or dozen, and holiday specials are currently being offered, too.
Waffle It + Co. opened its door at the Pavonia Avenue space on November 3rd, with store hours currently set at 2PM – 8PM Tuesday through Friday, and noon until 8PM on weekends. The shop will not be open Mondays.
Waffle It + Co. joins a sizable list of new restaurant openings in the Jersey City area. Just last week, we reported that a new Vietnamese restaurant, Quick Pho, is coming to Journal Square in the coming months. Beloved Hudson County bakery, Choc O Pain, has also opened its 5th location in the Journal Square area.
