It’s no secret that Jersey City is home to a culturally diverse food scene, and apparently, the gift just keeps on giving. A fresh Vietnamese eatery called Quick Pho has officially been given the green light to revamp a storefront at 126 Baldwin Avenue. The new storefront will sit in almost the exact geographic center of the city, situated about halfway between Journal Square and McGinley Square. While we don’t know much about Quick Pho’s menu offerings, we do know it will specialize in takeout and delivery — and that’s worth getting excited about. Read on for what we know about this new Vietnamese restaurant in Jersey City.

What We Know

On October 11th, the Jersey City Planning Board officially approved Quick Pho’s application for the 126 Baldwin Avenue location. Per Jersey Digs, the property’s owner had been seeking a change of use for the building from a café-restaurant to a restaurant. The board’s signature means Quick Pho is officially a go.

The storefront is located in a quiet Jersey City neighborhood, about halfway between Journal Square and McGinley square. It sits next door to Natural Care health center and shares the neighborhood with popular restaurants Flip Sigi, Cafe Alyce, and Rosita’s Yah.

Pho is a Vietnamese soup that’s traditionally made with broth, noodles, and thinly sliced beef, though you can swap beef with whatever protein you like. Many restaurants that specialize in Pho offer a slew of additional Vietnamese dishes, like Cha Gio and Hu Tieu. Although details about the Quick Pho menu are limited, HG can confirm that the Vietnamese spot will be primarily takeout and delivery, which is the perfect excuse to enjoy this comfort food from bed.

Quick Pho joins other Vietnamese restaurants in the area like Bon Banh, which opened in Hoboken back in May of this year, along with Thanh Huong, Kung Fu Pho, and Saigon Cafe — all located in Jersey City. In other new business news, we’re also looking forward to welcoming the newest Jersey City bagel shop called City Bagel + Deli, which will be located at 301 Grove Street. Much like Quick Pho, this spot doesn’t yet have social media and is a bit shrouded in mystery, making us all the more excited to check these restaurants out when they finally open.
