The English singer, born Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, popped into the Italian restaurant on Tuesday, March 1st. According to Blue Eyes, Sting came hungry. The former frontman for The Police ordered a variety of dishes, including pasta, seafood, and pizza.

Blue Eye’s versatile menu is popular with Hoboken residents and visitors alike. Just as Sting did during his visit, diners can order a wide variety of dishes, such as the recommended Rigatoni Alla Norma, as well as the creative Nutella Pizza dessert. Blue Eyes likes to keep things fresh, as well, by changing up the menu based on what food items are in-season. Diners can also choose to swap in whole wheat or gluten-free pasta and pizza options, too.

Not only did Sting enjoy his meal, but he also enjoyed Blue Eyes’ scenic location. If you haven’t had the chance to visit the Frank Sinatra-themed restaurant, Blue Eyes sits on Sinatra Drive with views of the New York City skyline.

Some people may expect a 17-time Grammy-winning rock star to keep to himself while out and about, however, reports from Blue Eyes suggest he was “humble” and friendly with guests. Sting even took the time to pose for photos with fans while visiting Blue Eyes for dinner.

Though it’s not clear why Sting was visiting Hoboken, the Mile Square isn’t far from the musician’s New York City home. In 2019, Curbed reported Sting purchased a sprawling penthouse on Central Park South. Along with his wife of thirty years, Trudie Styler, Sting was one of the first residents to purchase a unit in 220 Central Park South, a new luxury building near Columbus Circle that overlooks the park.

If you didn’t happen to be at Blue Eyes Restaurant at the same time as Sting this week, that wasn’t the last time Sting will be crossing the Hudson River this year. The rock star is set to play two gigs in Atlantic City as part of his 2022 My Songs Tour. He’ll hit the stage at the Mark G Etess Arena at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on May 13 and 14.

Sting is far from the only celebrity who has visited Hoboken over the years. Residents of Hoboken have reported run-ins with Penn Badgley of Gossip Girl and You at bwe kafe, while pop-star Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey Baldwin once visited UFC Gym. Sacha Baron Cohen, best known for his comedic work as Borat, filmed scenes for the award-winning Netflix drama film The Trial of the Chicago 7 at Dino and Harry’s Steakhouse. Sting’s fellow singers, Justin Timberlake and Beyonce, have also visited Hoboken in the past.
