All About Reiki

Reiki is an ancient Japanese energy healing system that is available to anyone looking to reduce stress and improve their health and well-being. The word Reiki combines two Japanese words — rei {higher power} and ki {life force energy}. This powerful, yet non-invasive therapy is designed to increase the individual’s “life force energy” — which is essentially the current that gives all matter life — using light touch {and sometimes even no touch} along with some spiritual guidance.

Asha learned about her energy-shifting abilities in her early twenties when she was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Disease. After laying her own hands on a nodule she discovered on her throat, it completely disappeared by her next scheduled ultrasound. Asha believes it is her life’s path to assist others in their journey of healing.

How a Reiki Traveler Session Works

reiki traveler session

What transpires during a visit to Reiki Traveler is almost inexplicable. Asha welcomes you into her safe space with a glass of water, friendly conversation, and a light scan of any health concerns.

She offers up the disclaimer that during the actual session, she may have “visions” of spirit animals or ancestors, whose messages she will share once the healing session is over. During the session, the client lies down on a comfortable heated massage table. Asha places an eye pillow over your eyes and encourages you to allow your body to respond in any way it needs to {crying, laughing, sighing, etc.} while she works her magic.

During the session, it is not uncommon to fall into a deep sleep and experience moments of intense heat, light muscle spasms, and/or pins and needles as Asha shifts any “stuck energy” in the body. She focuses on clearing any energy obstruction, while balancing the chakras and the yin {female} and yang {male} energies. Asha incorporates shamanic clearing using sound bowls, crystals, and incense.  After the session, she will share what she intuitively senses your body is struggling with and needs to release. She also suggests activities to assist in the release and healing, such as dancing or journaling.
