Hoboken
Apulia | 1319 Washington Street
Apuila’s can be booked for private events and the backyard has a good amount of space for a low-key birthday party. House-made pasta and wood-fired pizza are on the menu. Apulia’s is not BYOB, so that means you can celebrate your birthday over an Aperol spritz or espresso martini.

Bin 14 | 1314 Washington Street

There’s a beautiful outdoor space at Bin 14 complete with fairy lights and plants. Brunch parties and evening wine-and-tapas celebrations are both an option in this space, but make sure to fill out the party request form online even if you’re planning a non-private event.
Church Square Park | 400 Garden Street
Church Square Park is a good option for an outdoor family-friendly party in Hoboken. There’s plenty of space to set up a picnic — plus, the little ones can run around on the playground and there’s a basketball court if anyone is up for a pick-up game.
Dozzino | 534 Adams Street

Dozzinos is big in the Hoboken event scene and the space can be rented out for private events. There’s a spacious backyard where you can celebrate in the sunshine but plan ahead since it’s BYOB and BYOC — bring your own cake.

Hudson Table hosts dinner events on the rooftop and the space can handle pretty large groups. If you’re interested in bringing a birthday party crew, email ahead of time to make sure they can seat everyone together. Keep an eye on the calendar as the rooftop dinner parties are only held occasionally and get booked up quickly.
Pilsener Haus + Biergarten | 1422 Grand Street

Sometimes the best way to celebrate your birthday is with a beer, brat, and your best friends. Pilsener Haus + Biergarten can accommodate all of those — but make a reservation if you plan to host a weekend party with more than 20 people.
Seven Valleys | 936 Washington Street
Seven Valleys is an excellent Persian restaurant with a stunning backyard garden. Plus, if you’re looking for a space for a brunch birthday party, Seven Valleys has some incredible breakfast options on the weekends. Contact the restaurant if you want to host a party out here.
Jersey City

Dream Vista is another great spot for parents and young kids to celebrate together. The shaded backyard feels like you are going to a friend’s house and there are toys to keep the kiddos entertained. While you can visit Dream Visita just for coffee, it’s actually also an event space, so contact the shop if you want to plan a birthday party here and they’ll help you get everything organized. We’ve seen some dreamy events here complete with long tables, vases of flowers, and the cutest tea cups.
Honorable William Wall | 140 Dudley Street

Sunset celebrations are the name of the game at the Honorable William Wall — AKA Willy Wall. This floating clubhouse affiliated with the Manhattan Yacht Club is open Tuesdays through Saturdays for anyone, you just have to buy a ticket for the boat to take you out there. There’s a fully-stocked bar on board and you can bring your own food, snacks, and birthday cakes on board.
Willy Wall welcomes birthday parties, and table reservations can be made online when buying your tickets. There’s even a private event form to fill out if you want to make the party more memorable with an open bar or private, roped-off section.
The Golden Cicada | 195 Grand Street

The Baja Beergarden at The Golden Cicada is great for a relaxed party or get-together. Your crew can order a few drinks, play table tennis, and hang out at one of the many picnic tables. The menu includes tacos and appetizers, plus there’s a kids menu so little ones are welcome to join in on the celebration, too.

Liberty State Park has more than casual views, in our opinion, but it’s an easy spot to get friends and family together, especially if there are dogs and kids in the mix. Liberty State Park has a few rules and regulations about special events that you might want to brush up on before hosting your party here.
When those major milestones roll around and you want to go all out on your event, there’s Maritime Parc. This is more of an indoor-outdoor situation but it’s a nice option if you’re planning a big party and don’t want to stress about the weather.

Washington Park | 399 Webster Avenue
We asked our Hoboken Girl Insiders Facebook page for suggestions and Washington Park came up right away. It’s a nice space shared by Jersey City and Union City complete with a playground, tennis and basketball courts, and a dog run. You’ll also find picnic tables and BBQs making this a great spot for a summer party.
Zeppelin Hall Beer Garden | 88 Liberty View Drive

The Zeppelin Hall Beer Garden is a perfect spot for a weekend birthday hang. It’s open late — until 1:30AM or later Thursdays through Sundays, and the backyard is filled with large tables so you can invite all of your friends to drop in. Want to go all out? You can even rent the tree-shaded garden for a private party.
