Balsayat, originally from Istanbul, Turkey, is a local mom and the visionary behind the cafe. Each piece in the café and each item on the menu has been lovingly picked out by her. Café Vista is truly a labor of her love and hard work. A self-proclaimed lover of all things beautiful, Balsayat’s friends and family always encouraged her to open a café.

“I’ve always enjoyed curating spaces, hosting guests, and creating an experience for them that ties in something for all the senses to be left refreshed and awakened,” she told Hoboken Girl. Café Vista is the result of that combination of passions.

Balsayat made sure to pay attention to each and every detail to create a unique experience at Cafe Vista. She sourced all the serve ware from various vintage stores and she considers these the cafe’s treasure. The art is eclectic and guests will find resh flowers + plants in teacups are at every corner.

What to Expect at the New Location

“At Cafe Vista, we have had so many people from the Jersey City visit since we opened, so that was the inspiration to open the second location there. There is also a good coffee culture in Jersey City,” says Balsayat of the expansion.

The second location is going to be called Dream Vista, Balsayat explained. “It’s located in the Paulus Hook area. We have a huge private backyard which we loved at first sight. It has a different interior design concept and menu at the Jersey City location. However, we kept the same vintage vibes and overall aesthetic.”

The menu at the Hoboken location consists of a variety of healthy salads, toasts, bakery items, and sweet treats. There is something for everyone to enjoy with plenty of gluten-free and vegan options as well. The coffee and tea menu is extensive and is a coffee connoisseur’s dream come true. The specialty coffees include traditional Turkish coffee which is a must-try. Beyond the Turkish brew, another caffeinated option is the rose latte — fragrant, delicious, and satisfying.

As for the teas, they are brewed and served in Mac-Kenzie Child’s tea kettles that transport you to another time and place. There’s something about a decadent tea experience that lends itself to a feeling of luxury.

As for the drink menu at Dream Vista, Balsayat shared that there will be a special drink menu. “Cafe Vista is known for its Rose Latte and Dalgona Coffee,” she explains. Dream Vista offers Blue Matcha and Royal Blue Lemonade and of course, Turkish coffee and Dalgona coffee.

The food menu also offers more of a variety including avocado toasts, brunch, Mediterranean breakfast, pastries, and more.

The cafe will also host events and allow people to rent out the inside + outside space for private parties!
