New businesses are constantly popping up around the Mile Square City. From coffee shops and pizza spots to fitness studios and cannabis dispensaries, there is always something new to check out — and that includes beauty businesses. Over the past few months, several new beauty businesses have announced plans to open or are already open in Hoboken, from salon suites to new medspas. Read on for a list of five new and incoming beauty businesses in Hoboken, New Jersey.

In late March, an eagle-eyed reader sent a tip to The Hoboken Girl with an update on the vacant space at 1201 Hudson Street. Renovations were ongoing, but a clue on the building permit indicated that a new spa was opening soon. We now know that 4Ever Young, an anti-aging and medical spa, has moved into the space at 1204 Bernard McFeeley Shipyard Lane and is in its soft opening stage. 4Ever Young is a little over 2,000 square feet in size and provides cosmetic botox, dermaplaning, CoolSculpting, hydrafacials, chemical peels, microneedling, and custom facials, among other treatments. The Hoboken location marks its 6th in New Jersey, with seven other Garden State locations in the works.

Glowbar took over the former Deka Lash Space at 612 Washington Street, and opened up in the Mile Square back in early March. Signage first went up for the new spot in the fall of 2023. Glowbar is an East Coast-based skincare chain that provides treatments like dermaplaning, extractions, chemical peels, and LED light therapy, among other services. The spot has multiple locations in New York and one location in Connecticut — the Hoboken storefront marks the first Glowbar to arrive in New Jersey.

Honey Medspa is a new, locally-owned spot that’s looking to make its debut in Hoboken this June. After several years of working in the medical injectables industry, Hoboken resident Kacey Cangialosi will open up Honey Medspa at 640 Park Avenue. While Kacey herself won’t be doing injections, her team brings years of experience to the table, with three injectors who each have five to ten years of experience, as well as an aesthetician who also has several years of experience.

Skin Laundry | 56 Third Street

When we first broke the news in July 2023, Skin Laundry’s Hoboken location was unconfirmed. Signage was put up at 56 Third Street back in November 2023 — and now the laser facial chain is officially open in Hoboken as of May 2024. The 1,500-square-foot facility provides a variety of non-invasive, practically painless laser facials that have little to no downtime — treatments include the Signature Laser Facial, resurfacing facials, and “power” facials that use more power for faster results. The skincare chain has locations worldwide, including six in NYC and others Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Texas, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, and Dubai.

1425 Hudson Street is soon-to-be the home of Strand Salon Studios, which is a salon suite enterprise headquartered in New Jersey. A notice was sent out to residents of the building last week, which shared the details of the business’ developments as a tenant — and Strand Salon’s website also lists Hoboken as an upcoming location. Salon suites are a newer approach to salon ownership, where beauty professionals rent out specific spaces, taking the business management out of the ownership while catering to the high demand for hair and beauty services. This will be the chain’s 6th outpost, with two more on the way.
