Obviously, it’s a tad basic to post about Mean Girls on October 3rd, BUT when it also happens on a Wednesday *and* we live a hop, skip, and jump from Broadway in NYC, you know there’s no resisting.
If you haven’t already heard, Mean Girls made its Broadway debut this past year and is wowing plastics everywhere.
Directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, but written by Tina Fey, Mean Girls originally debuted in Washington D.C. and now has set up shop at the August Wilson Theatre on Broadway in New York City…but, while we loved it, a post about all that is, well, SNOOZE. We won’t bore you with the deets because DUHHH go on google, buy tickets, and you’re in business. It’s not hard — unless you’re Karen.
Instead, on this glorious day of October 3rd, we’ll share something a little more relatable than Lindsay Lohan living her best life in Mykonos. For reference:
…we digress. Here’s how to have a very Mean Girls Day in Hoboken:
1. Wear pink. Purchased most likely at Francesca’s, Anthro, or Coup de Couer uptown.
2. Eat as many cheese fries as you want. There is no limit to how many cheese fries you can have.
3. Play fetch with your dog at one of Hoboken’s many dog parks.
4. Purge yourself of your secrets and get a Brazilian blowout at Two01 Hair, Keratin Cafe, Blo-It-Out Lounge, or Up & Out.
5. Wear sweatpants AND a vest. Most likely bought at Shop No. 18.
6. Order a cake filled with rainbows and smiles from Sugar Suckle, Hudson Cakery, or Baking Mama.
7. Drink wine at Grand Vin, Bin 14, or Sorellina and tell a random child that they keep you young.
8. Buy a scary Halloween costume at Spirit, which just popped up downtown
9. Buy some Kalteen protein bars at Organic Basic Foods.
10. Don’t have sex because you’ll get pregnant and die.
11. Tell a friend who invites you out that you’re sick. Because self-care.
12. Order a mocktail at a very alcohol-friendly bar, and ask if there’s alcohol in it.
13. Tell a random mom at Starbucks she’s not a regular mom. She’s a cool mom.
15. Catch a game at Black Bear because they have ESPN.
Go see the real thing on Broadway. You’ll be glad you did!
Happy October 3rd.
