• Mangiamo! Hoboken: Keste Pizzeria NYC Trip {Gluten Free Eats}

    Keste Pizzeria NYC. To say I am slightly obsessed with this place is an understatement. I have dined here multiple times and cannot say enough about their gluten free pizza. Located on the busy Bleecker street in the West Village, this quaint pizzeria is always crowded…and recently became a stop on my gluten-free travels. Known famously for their wood-fired Neapolitan pizza, the gluten free pizza does not fall short of the restaurant’s reputation.

    As I was at an Italian restaurant, I started my night with a generous glass of Chianti (from the Tuscany region). Keste makes six different gluten free pizzas  – mast’nicola, margherita, margherita with salami, marinara, regina margherita, and prosciutto e arugula. I decided to stick to a classic – margherita (tomato sauce, homemade mozzarella, basil, olive oil and pecorino romano cheese).  It looked like a regular pizza, just a little smaller. The crust was perfectly crispy thanks to the wood-fired oven and the sauce and mozzarrella cheese were perfectly infused with the basil.

    Honestly, I can’t say enough about this restaurant and how great their gluten free pizza is. So fresh, well-blended, and their thin crust is just incredible. Their cheese is made on site. If non-gluten free, they also have a nutella pizza I hear is amazing. Sold yet? I can’t wait to go back and try the other types!

    Val Rossi is the blogger behind Mangiamo! Hoboken. Growing up half Italian, studying abroad in Rome, and watching her grandmother make everything from minestrone soup to lasagna put her on a journey to find the best italian food in Hoboken. In 2012, she was diagnosed with Celiac's disease, and is now on a journey to find the best gluten free eats and products in town. Give her a glass of Chianti and some Nutella, and she is one happy girl!

    • That is one of our faves….We still believe that Bin14 has also some of the best gluten-free pizza out there. Tony Baloney’s too bc they dont use that standard Udi’s crust that so many others try to appease the gluten-free sect.

      On another note: Very happy that Hudson Table has scheduled a gluten-free pasta making class for next Sunday!
