It almost feels like you’re in a real-life version of a video game. There are a few places to play laser tag close to Hoboken + Jersey City and even some companies that will bring the game to you. The two-story laser tag arena at Bounce About is fun for both kids and adults. The space has an underwater theme but there are 25 different programmable games to make each round feel different — which is great if you decide to become a member. Single games cost $5 per person but a membership is available to get discounts or perks like watching game replays or viewing scorecards. It’s recommended that you call ahead with a big group but walk-ins are welcome. Kids can also plan birthday parties here which come with two laser tag games and time in “Jersey’s first inflatable sports arena.”

Bullseye Laser Tag | 200 Menlo Park Drive, Edison

This laser tag gaming center in the Menlo Park Mall has a 10,000 square foot battlefield which means there are plenty of places to hide. Public sessions are open Thursdays-Saturdays for players ages 12 and up and private games can be reserved on Saturdays and Sundays for groups of up to 10 people. Adults and kids can also host parties here which come with 90+ minutes of private gameplay.

Fireball Mountain Laser Tag | 295 Meany Road, Wrightstown

Fireball Mountain has outdoor laser tag, which is a unique twist on the classic game. There are 15 wooded acres with forts, trenches, and tunnels to make each game dynamic and exciting. Individuals can sign up for a 90-minute public game on the website or players can book a private group event for a birthday party or team-building event. There are also some special events throughout the year, including Zombie-themed games and Jello tag where players can shoot small balls of Jello instead of lasers.

FunTime Junction has a “vest-less” version of laser tag which is supposed to be easier for younger players. Kids five and up can play laser tag and each five-minute round includes two teams trying to score the most points. FunTime Junction is a family-owned indoor playground with more than just laser tag. Children could spend the entire day playing in the funcade and climbing maze. HG Tip: You must pre-register at least 30 minutes in advance to guarantee a spot. FunTime Junction will also be closed on weekdays and select Saturdays in September — specifically the 16th, 23rd, and 30th.

Game Rider brings laser tag to you. This mobile game truck transports all kinds of entertainment, including laser tag, to parties across North Jersey. The Game Rider team will create a unique battlefield at your indoor or outdoor locations. Games last about 8-10 minutes and are designed to be fun for everyone.

iPlay America is a massive indoor amusement park with rides, arcade games, and a two-level 6,500 square foot laser tag arena. The area has LED lights that change colors and effects throughout the game. Each laser tag game runs for 8 minutes and costs 20 credits ($10) to play.

Lively Laser Tag | 355 US-22, Springfield

This laser tag venue has more than 20 different game formats including free-for-all and capture the flag. Both adults and kids ages 6+ can join in on the fun. The New York-themed 3,000-square-foot arena features a maze and plenty of other places to hide. Laser tag packages are priced per hour and come with four rounds.

Tac Ops | 373 US-46 West Suite D110, Fairfield + 100 Passaic Avenue Suite 4, Florham Park

The team behind Tac Ops took inspiration from video games to create what they call “NJ’s Baddest Battlegrounds.” Players can pick from a variety of missions like elimination and VIP to make each laser tag round feel unique. This one-of-a-kind laser tag experience is for players 8+ and time slots are posted on the Tac Ops website and social media where players can reserve their spots.
