Although July has already arrived in the Garden State, there is still time to plan all the 4th of July festivities. The 49th Annual Macy’s Fireworks Display is not happening on our side of the Hudson River this year (though locals can still catch glimpses from places with skyline views), but there are still plenty of festive fireworks shows happening throughout Northern New Jersey. Read on for fireworks shows happening in Hoboken, Jersey City, + the Greater New Jersey area for the 4th of July 2025.

About the 49th Annual Macy’s Fireworks Display

Macy’s will host its annual 4th of July Fireworks display, but this year it will be on the East River in NYC’s Seaport District. Four barges will launch from the Brooklyn Bridge, complete with synced music, pyrotechnics, and thousands of shells and effects. The festive event will also feature a lineup of live performances. Jersey City Fireworks Displays

4th of July Rooftop Celebration at RoofTop at Exchange Place | 1st Street #1, Jersey City

Known for its American cuisine and craft cocktails, Rooftop at Exchange Place, or ‘Rooftop XP,’ will host a 4th of July Celebration, featuring live DJ sets, festive bites like a hot dog + burger cart, and summer-themed cocktails. This event begins at 4PM with free admission until 7PM. Tickets cost $35. See here for more.

Jersey City’s 4th of July Festival + Fireworks returns on July 4th. This takes place at Exchange Place, featuring 60 vendors, three DJ stages, two beer gardens hosted by 902 Brewing Co., a Kids’ Zone featuring a variety of activities and a bounce house, and 40 different food trucks. The event will conclude with a fireworks display beginning at 9:30PM over the Hudson River, accompanied by a synchronized patriotic soundtrack.

The July 4th Jersey City Night Market will run with the theme “Festival + Fireworks” from 12PM to 9PM on July 4th.  There will be Fourth of July-themed businesses and creators, food and drink vendors, family-friendly activities, live entertainment, and a fireworks show. Macy’s Fireworks Watch Parties

Fourth of July at Liberty Landing Marina | 80 Audrey Zapp Drive, Jersey City

Jersey City residents can watch the 2025 Macy’s Fireworks show from a boat at Liberty Landing Marina. This watch party, which provides a front-row view, will take place at 80 Audrey Zapp Drive. See more at this link.

NY Waterway’s 4th of July Fireworks cruise returns for 2025, boasting food + cocktails, DJ music synchronized to the fireworks, and free glasses of champagne. The cruise departs at 7PM from the Port Imperial Ferry Terminal in Weehawken. Tickets are $170 per adult, and senior and child discounts are available. Learn more here.

Located along the waterfront in Jersey City, the Harborside building is home to professional offices, a restaurant called The District, and the Harborside Market, featuring Nana’s Deli, Nana’s Deli Breakfast + More with Ess-a-Bagel, and Frozen Therapy with Torico’s Ice Cream – all under one roof. As an event space within the building, the Harborside Atrium has floor-to-ceiling windows that provide a great view of the Manhattan skyline, making it a go-to spot to see the fireworks.

Liberty State Park | 1 Audrey Zapp Drive, Jersey City

Liberty State Park, Jersey City’s most well-known park, provides a view of the NYC skyline, the Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island. With tons of open space available, residents can pick a spot and enjoy the show.

Pier A Park | 11 Sinatra Drive, Hoboken

Located next to the Hoboken train station, Pier A Park is known for its large green space, view of the NYC skyline, summertime splash pad, and more. The park is right on the water, so Hudson County residents may just be able to see this year’s display.

Greater NJ Firework Displays

Allendale Fireworks | 300 West Crescent Avenue, Allendale

Allendale’s annual 4th of July Celebration starts at 11AM (yes, it’s an all-day event!) and promises a lineup of family-friendly events, ending with a fireworks display at night at Crestwood Lake. There will be many activities for all, including field events, a horseshoe tournament, a water balloon toss, a fun run, and more. The fireworks show begins at 10:15PM. Learn more here.

Hosted by the Paramus Volunteer Fire Department, Paramus’s fireworks display takes place on July 6th at 5PM. This community event will double as a food truck festival, boasting a variety of food options and live music by DJ Valentino + iHeartRadio at 6PM. For more on this event, see here.

Ridgewood Fourth of July Celebration | Veterans Field, North Maple Avenue, Ridgewood

Ridgewood will host its Fourth of July celebration at Veterans Field. Gates open at 6PM, and the fireworks show begins around 9:15PM. This event features food trucks, entertainment, and a beer garden. Tickets are $12 if bought in advance, $16 for adults at the door, and children under five can enter for free. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs, blankets, and snacks. For more details, see here.
