“My birthday was April 12th and [it] was amazing! I had a zoom mimosa brunch with friends, and deliveries from local JC spots {Orale, Bang cookies, and Krispy Kreme} ringing my doorbell all day long. Pre-quarantine didn’t even have anything planned because it was Easter so this was so much better!” – Stephanie Brooke

“My family and friends surprised me through Zoom, from Puerto Rico and Vermont, some of them with balloons and others with a cupcake! I can say that it was an extremely special birthday!” – Lorraine Báez

“We sing happy birthday on Zoom chat for each student celebrating a birthday. It’s so cute. The kids all love it. I also bought [my husband] toilet paper that said Happy Birthday! You’re the Sh*t with a poop emoji.” – Danielle Lynch

“My birthday was this past week, my coworkers scheduled a Zoom meeting and when I got on they immediately began singing me happy birthday and at the end they told me to look out my window. One of them had baked me an entire cake and was on the call from my stoop! Shortly after I got a text that a friend had sent me an insomnia cookie cake that was on its way to me. In the afternoon some friends from my local yoga studio showed up with paper towels, brownies, gloves, and a mask because they know my asthma makes me high risk. Lastly, when I went down to meet them I found an Urban Stems delivery from earlier also from coworkers. It was a weirdly wonderful birthday all things considered. So many people called to check in and made it a point to make sure my birthday didn’t go unnoticed. I was really moved.” – Adrienne Nicole

“My boyfriend’s sister’s 30th birthday [is today] and we’re throwing her a “surprise” party! She thinks we’re having a Zoom with just us and her parents but we’ve invited all of her friends and family and they’re going to pop in randomly throughout the video call to say hello.” – Michele Nicole

“My parents were supposed to be visiting my sister in California this week for my mom’s birthday. Having to cancel all of the California celebrations really sucked, so my sister and I created a California wine tasting over Zoom! We coordinated and found 3 California wines to taste, made sure we could both find them in liquor stores near us and found chocolates and cheeses to pair! I delivered everything my mom needed {contact free} and we got together over Zoom with videos explaining each of the wines! It was so fun!” – Kelsey Baldwin

“My husband organized a surprise Zoom party! It was really lovely. Got his mom in on it, she called me at a designated time and while distracted by chatting with her he got the computer all set up. Was really sweet and super fun!” – Meredith Wright Whitaker

“My best friend’s 30th birthday was April 4th, so her mom organized her family and a handful of closest friends to do a “drive-by” happy birthday. She was so surprised — thought she was coming outside to take a family photo. It was really sweet and emotional.” – Briana Bednarski

“Mine was yesterday and I live alone – so I was sort of dreading it. But I had a few surprises throughout the weekend that made it so special and memorable! A friend from Atlanta arranged a surprise Zoom birthday party with about a dozen friends. I joined the call and burst into happy tears when I saw all of their faces! My mom, who is currently out of state, shopped local and surprised me with a beautiful bouquet from Flowers by Diane and some tasty treats from Sorrelina’s! And then I treated myself to a birthday dinner from Augustino’s. It was my best weekend in quarantine!” – Lara Elizabeth

“My husband’s quarantine bday: We ordered from Augustinos, had a chocolate cake delivered by baking mama, opened a bottle of wine that was older than both me and my husband, put on jazz and dimmed the lights at home to make it feel like a restaurant for his 41st.” – Jennifer Stoskus
