Ahead of the upcoming holiday season here in the Mile Square, the City of Hoboken recently announced a few parking updates to encourage residents to partake in local shopping and dining. This includes free garage parking and discounted street parking in certain Hoboken areas. Read on for more about the holiday parking updates in Hoboken, New Jersey for 2024.
The Details
To encourage local dining and shopping, the City of Hoboken will provide free parking for up to four hours in municipal Garage B (28 Second Street), Garage D (215 Hudson Street), and the Midtown Garage (371 Fourth Street). The free parking will be available on weekends starting on Saturday, November 30th, and run through January 2nd, 2025. To redeem the free parking, drivers will need to show the garage attendant a receipt for a $20 minimum purchase from any Hoboken shop or restaurant.

The City is also providing discounted on-street metered parking through Tuesday, December 31st. Drivers can use promo code “PARKHOB” in the ParkMobile app to recieve 50% off parking sessions in select business district zones. Eligible zones can be viewed here.
The City also has a parking reservations program, allowing residents and visitors to reserve a parking space in Municipal Garage B, Garage D, and the Midtown Garage. Reservations can be made through the ParkMobile app and can be booked Monday through Thursday from 6PM to 2AM, and from 6PM on Fridays to midnight on Sundays.
“Celebrate the holidays in Hoboken by enjoying our festive events, exploring our vibrant local shops, and supporting the small businesses that make our city so special,” Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla said in a press release. “To make your experience even better, we’re reducing parking fees to encourage everyone to shop locally and take part in the joy of the season right here in our community.”
