HDSID’s All About Downtown Street Fair is taking place this Saturday, September 17th from 12:00PM-8:00PM at the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Mall from Grove Street to Coles Street and Grove PATH Plaza in Jersey City. The fun-filled day will have over 200+ artist and artisan vendors, local shops, and restaurants participating — selling everything from vintage clothing and small-batch candles to gelato and empanadas. Not to mention, there will also be two Kids Zone areas with rides and face painting, live music, and beer gardens during the event.

House Of ‘Que’s New Menu + Look

House Of ‘Que, located at 340 Sinatra Drive in Hoboken, just relaunched its new menu and look for the fall season. The local Austin-style barbecue joint debuted three new wing sauces — Bull Sauce, Honey BBQ, and Texas Spice rub, as well as three new sandwiches including the HOQ Chicken Fried Steak Sandwich, the HOQ Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich (available grilled or crispy), and the HOQ Spicy Chicken Sandwich (available grilled or crispy). Not to mention, House Of ‘Que also has a new Fry Menu featuring queso fries, queso curly fries, and loaded queso fries or curly fries with cheese, bacon, and jalapeño. Plus, you can now get your fries dusted with any of the house-made dry rubs. There’s no better time to check out House Of ‘Que to experience the new look, the new menu, and celebrate the new season.

The Laugh Tour at Dorrian’s Red Hand

Saturday, September 17th at 6:00PM, 8:00PM, and 10:00PM | BUY TICKETS

Dorrian’s Red Hand located at 555 Washington Boulevard in Jersey City is hosting three comedy shows on Saturday, September 17th at 600PM, 8:00PM, and 10:00PM. The Laugh Tour is hosted by comedian Rich Kiamco and will feature Drexton Clemmons from BuzzFeed, Allan Fuks from Sirius XM, and Joe Mahoney from Adult Swim. Show tickets purchased online in-advance of the show are $15 and are $20 day of and at the door with a 2 item minimum per person. Ticket holders are asked to please arrive 20 minutes prior to the show to allow easy seating and drink + food orders. Additional shows with other comedians will take place every Saturday night. Venue and restrooms are wheelchair accessible. Proof of vaccination is no longer required.

Hudson Connections is a membership-based organization that aims to help small business owners empower and support one another. This group strives to create a positive and supportive environment for locals to network and refer each other. It is currently open to new members, though the group is limited to one person per profession/category.

Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps | Hoboken

Getting to and from a healthcare facility in the event of an emergency is not something people think of until the time comes. Thankfully, one non-profit in Hoboken has this covered, but only with the help of volunteers. The Hoboken Ambulance Corps is a 100% volunteer-based, free resource for the community. To keep the organization running, they need volunteers in many capacities. Learn more here.


Hudson County American Red Cross | Jersey City

The American Red Cross has been ready to respond in times of disaster for decades, + the COVID-19 crisis is no different. More than ever, the American Red Cross is in need of volunteers to help us all get through this time together. Drivers are needed to safely transport lifesaving blood from local blood drives to hospitals. Volunteers are asked to commit to 2-4 shifts per month, with each shift being about 4 hours. All volunteers must have a valid driver’s license, at least 3 years of a clean driving record, + should be able to lift at least 45 pounds. Learn more here.


Hudson Pride Center | Jersey City

The Hoboken Shelter hosts 50 guests nightly + serves more than 1,000 meals throughout the week. As a full-service community partner, the Hoboken Shelter is a necessary resource within the neighborhood.
