Easter is officially upon us, and we can’t help but get excited for all the treats that come with it. We might be too old {sigh} for an Easter egg hunt, but there are plenty of local shops whipping up Easter sweets so you can have alllll the nostalgic feelz. We’ve rounded up a few {a mere 15} of our favorite local sweet shops below to satisfy that Easter sweet tooth, check them out:
1. Choc O’ Pain {Hoboken + Jersey City locations}
If croissants, macaroons, flourless chocolate cake or french pastries in general are what you want — then Choc O’ Pain has your fix {and they have 4 shops — 2 in Hoboken, 2 in Jersey City, talk about convenience}. They are also whipping up this Easter brioche made with raisins, dried cranberries, and apricots soaked in rum — yes plz.
2. Milk Sugar Love {19 McWilliams Place, Jersey City + Palisade Avenue in the Heights}
Milk Sugar Love has created an Easter menu that includes this adorable bunny cake and more sweets like baby chic ice cream sandwiches, colorful cupcakes, and bunny cookies. All items are preorder for pickup on Saturday or Easter Sunday.
3. Giorgio’s Italian Bakery {1112 Washington Street, Hoboken}
Repeat after us – C A N N O L I S. Giorgio’s is the place to go for those tasty little gems. They also have a variety of assorted Italian cookies and other scrumptious treats. But, it’s ca$h only, so make sure you bring some paper.
4. Sweet {343 Garden Street, Hoboken}
Such a darling little shop that smells like heaven. May we suggest the mini carrot cake cupcakes? If carrot cake isn’t your thing, don’t worry — they have PLENTY of yummy {and festive} options, like these adorable sugar cookies and cupcakes galore.
5. bwè kafe {1002 Washington Street, Hoboken + 140 River Drive South, Jersey City}
You’ll need a good cup of coffee while running your Easter sweets errands, obvi. Besides the delish caffeine options, bwè kafe also carries gluten free + vegan pastries by OM Sweet Home.

6. Lepore’s Homemade Chocolates {105 4th Street, Hoboken}
The name says it all — if chocolate is what your heart desires, this is your place. Get super nostalgic with giant Easter bunny chocolates and other sweets.
7. Carlo’s Bakery {95 Washington Street}
Carlo’s is serving up all the Italian Easter goodies, like pizza rustica {a traditional Italian pie made with cold cuts, their only savory menu item}, wheat pie, and some festive cupcakes and cakes along with their regular pastries.
8. Hudson Cakery {1816 Willow Ave, Weehawken}
Hudson Cakery is a local favorite for custom cakes and sweets, but you should also check them out for Easter. Just look at those cute lamb cakes — and make sure to order in advance.
9. Birch {92 River Street, Hoboken}
Birch might be known for its nightlife, but their milkshakes are pretty {ok, very} impressive, too. Stop in for one of their crazy milkshakes for the ultimate sugar high.

10. Sugar Suckle {600-604 Newark Avenue, Hoboken}
If you’re looking to customize your Easter treats, look no further than Sugar Suckle. From cakes, to cookies, to cake pops and more, they do it all — plus, their very own Hoboken location is opening in April 2018!
11. Baking Mama {88 Hudson Street, Hoboken}
Macaroons, cupcakes, coconut macaroons, cakes, and cookies are just some of Baking Mama’s specialties, and boy, are they good. Stop in for freshly baked {and made with love} treats this Easter — or any day, of course.
12. OM Sweet Home {Multiple Locations — but Cliffside Park, NJ}
Just because you’ve got dietary restrictions doesn’t mean that you’re excluded from the sweet stuff. Nosh on some tasty treats that are vegan and gluten-free from OM Sweet Home that will satisfy any sweet tooth.
13. Cocoa Bakery {275 Grand Street, Jersey City}
Because cookies can be both delicious and adorable, Cocoa Bakery is whipping up these gorgeous tasties for this weekend’s Easter festivities.
14. Dolce & Salato {1101 Grand St}
If chocolate bunnies aren’t enough for you, Dolce & Salato’s Palazzone Extra Fine Milk Chocolate Eggs will fill all of your chocolate cravings. The soccer ball-sized treat is made with love in Italy, and sold on 11th and Grand. Dolce also is selling Colomba Pasquale for $30 and $25 each. Talk about authentic. Bonus: They’re open on Easter Sunday till 2PM!
15. Vito’s Bakery {87 Plaza Center, Secaucus}

BONUS dessert. Although a bit of hike away over in Secaucus, Vito’s Bakery has delicious Easter bread available for order for any pre, post, or during Easter brunch or dinner snacks. Plus, all the bread will come in different shapes and sizes. Please cue a carb-induced, “ah.”
