The 2022 holiday season has officially started, and parties and social gatherings are just around the corner. With many people looking forward to spending time with loved ones this year, whether it be local friends or out-of-town family – here are 15 fun and interactive experiences — from cooking classes to tie-dying — so you can gather with loved ones celebrate locally. Paint + Sip at Art Mango | 30 Mall Drive W, 2nd Floor, Jersey City

Creating parties for 10 guests or 50, an Art Mango package offers two hours to “sip back and relax” and paint. The team provides the art materials needed; participants can bring their own beverages. One way to brighten the holidays is to visit the Hoboken Historical Museum for holiday happenings. In addition, stop by the museum’s Shipyard Passageway on the last three Saturdays in November and December for pop-up events. A great way to create holiday warmth and cheer is to ReWax & Unwine – a clever pun, we might add. Participants can bring their own food and drink to this candle-making experience that will surely bring a glow to the cheeks. The store is booking holiday parties, both corporate and private.

The brother-sister duo behind Tipsy Tie Dye has created a unique space for people to channel their creative side through the art of tie-dying. This is a great activity for a group of people – the shop can be booked ahead of time. The team will walk you through all of the different types of tie-dye patterns, how to create them, and assist when needed. There are clothes and other items in the shop that visitors can purchase to tie-dye or they can bring their own pieces. Visitors can also bring the beverages of their choice.

This shop honors the region’s Lenape Indian roots, and the lanes are named with words from the tribe’s language and geographical areas. Perfect for coffee aficionados – learn how to pour beautiful latte art designs just like the ones created in the shop. The instructor teaches this hands-on art where attendees will learn latte art theory and technique. There will also be a mini latte ‘throwdown’ at the end of the class with prizes for the first and second places.

Trivia Nights at Black Bear Bar & Grill | 205 Washington Street, Hoboken 

It’s time to put all of those random bits of trivia to use at Black Bear’s pop culture holiday-themed trivia nights. Sushi Rolling at Saku | 936 Park Avenue, Hoboken

Sushi lovers – rejoice! On the first and last Tuesday of every month the “darkroom” in this sushi restaurant is reserved for a hands-on sushi tutorial aptly named “Rolling with the Homies.” Learn how to make a tuna roll, a California roll, and a salmon-avocado hand-roll. Tickets cost $45.
