City Fitness will open at 1000 Maxwell Street in uptown Hoboken and at 38 Jackson Street in downtown Hoboken. These are the first New Jersey locations of the chain, which has eight Philadelphia locations. Both gyms will be located in mixed-use residential buildings. The 38 Jackson Street location is part of the Southend Lofts building, a new multi-use building that will also have a grocery store, a coffee shop, and a dumpling shop on the ground floor. The other location will be housed in Maxwell Place.

This private-member athletic club is slated to open in Hoboken in the spring of 2026, according to a Facebook post. There are seven other locations across Manhattan and Brooklyn. Members pick a club, then choose a squad to train with that fits their schedule. Some of the things included in a membership are run club and coaching, personal coaching, additional classes on top of training with a dedicated squad, WhatsApp group for support, and other community events and groups.

The Drip is a Hoboken favorite, making people leave classes dripping with sweat at the downtown location. The Pilates studio opened a second location in Uptown Hoboken. The second location features an infrared heated mat studio, reformer studio, and cycle studio, and all of the current class formats.
