Coffee lovers have a new place to get their caffeine fix in downtown Jersey City. The Grind Coffee Shop recently opened a pop-up in the Milk and Cream Cereal Bar at 175 Newark Avenue and HG is here for the ice cream-coffee collab. The Grind Coffee Shop was named Jersey City’s best coffee shop in 2022 according to The Hoboken Girl readers so it’s great to see this beloved cafe expanding to the downtown Jersey City scene. All About The Grind Pop-Up
The Grind Coffee Shop, located at 360 Communipaw Avenue, has been a staple in the Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood since 2015. The team works hard to make the cafe a welcoming space for networking and community events.
Anyone who has walked past Milk + Cream in downtown Jersey City recently may have noticed that the ice cream shop has a new look. The Grind launched its pop-up with Milk & Cream in September and it brought its signature aesthetic to the space.
“Grind is dedicated to fostering a warm and inclusive community, uniting individuals through a shared appreciation for exceptional coffee. Our journey brought this unique ambiance to downtown Jersey City through a dynamic collaboration with our esteemed partners at Milk & Cream,” Michael Clark, director of The Grind Shop told The Hoboken Girl.

The Grind brews La Colombe coffee and a full menu of hot drinks with drip coffee, lattes, cortados, flat whites, matcha, hot chocolate, and chai. Tons of iced drinks, like iced doppio, iced coffee, cold brew, iced chai, draft lattes, and horchatas, are also available.
Guests who want to get creative can also add flavors like vanilla, lavender, coconut, pistachio, smores, cookie butter, or cinnamon bun to their drinks. (A cinnamon bun latte, yes please!)
The pop-up menu also features an affogato (coffee poured over ice cream) and a one-of-a-kind specialty latte that shouldn’t be missed. The popup also has a selection of pastries available.
“Renowned for our innovative specialty drinks, our latest endeavor with Milk & Cream has given rise to distinctive offerings, such as the “Cereal Milk Latte,” seamlessly blending the best elements of both worlds,” Michael said.
Enjoy Community + Free Drip Coffee
The Grind is all about community. In addition to the pop-up at Milk + Cream, the team recently launched “The Grind Society,” an initiative that focuses on health and wellness. The Grind Society includes a run club along with yoga and strength + conditioning classes.
The run club embarks from the Bergen-Lafayette location on Sundays and Thursdays. During a recent Sunday run, the group ended at the Milk & Cream pop-up.
“We believe in creating holistic spaces that cater to both the caffeine enthusiast and the health-conscious individual,” Michael said.
The Grind pop-up in downtown Jersey City is located at 175 Newark Avenue and is open every day of the week. Coffee lovers can visit Monday-Friday from 7AM-7PM and Saturday-Sunday from 8AM-10PM.

Guests are encouraged to get their creative juices flowing by sitting in the cafe to enjoy the vibe and caffeine. Free drip coffee is even served from 7AM-9:30AM.
