Fans of the local clothing store alba, you’re going to love its sister boutique, a X d in Hoboken.

“The identity of a X d is so different than alba, which carries our more premium collections and neutral color palettes,” says founder and buyer, Jeanna. “You will walk in and feel it right away since everything is bright, vibrant and fun. It is a really colorful and inviting space.” Read on to discover all about a X d and what it has to offer.

Though the vibe of a X d {loocated at 503 Washington Street at the former Dear Hannah space} is a bit different, shoppers will still see a lot of similarities between the two stores. After all, who can forget that Jeanna also brought us the original boutique that’s been voted both Best Casual Fashion Boutique and Best Clothing Boutique in Hoboken by our readers.

“My stores have a really special meaning to me,” Jeanna says. “My mom, Dawn, passed away when I was 19 and I wanted my stores to be dedicated to her. alba means Dawn in Italian, and a X d means alba by dawn.”

With that beautiful meaning and dedication in mind, Jeanna says she strives to curate a certain experience with each boutique. {It’s not just the Hoboken alba and a X d that she has open; she has alba locations in Ridgewood, Summit, Morristown, and Somerville}.

“a X d will give the same in-store experience that my five other stores are known for. My team of stylists and I are here every step of the way to help you get dressed for an occasion or a new wardrobe. We absolutely love getting to know everyone who walks in the door. You will see familiar faces working in both Hoboken locations, too,” she adds.

With stylists to help you put cohesive looks together, there’s a lot that shoppers can expect from Jeanna’s most recent venture…and not just in the way of trendy pieces, but in the way of price tags, too.

“Expect a really cool assortment of more trend-driven pieces like skirt and crops sets, colorful jumpsuits, printed yoga pants + tie-dyed styles,” Jeanna says. “Every item in the store will be under $100. Some of our favorite brands in the store are BlankNYC, Quay sunnies, Vintage Havana + Hayden LA, to name a few.”

Alba shoppers may remember that a X d started as a pop-up shop.

“Last year’s downtown pop-up on 1st Street was our test run and we still have clients asking for it. We just love this space at 503 Washington Street and signed a long-term lease,” Jeanna says.

While it’s amazing to see a woman-owned business like this one, Jeanna actually turned her boutique biz into a family affair when she brought her hubby aboard back in 2015.

“My incredible husband Adam and I have partnered up since 2015 when the second alba location opened in Hoboken,” she says. “He’s mostly in the back end but he can be spotted in the stores on busy days, too.”

Stop in when you have a chance, you’ll be pleasantly surprised {and most likely will score something new to wear for the weekend or your next getaway}.
