In the age of #socialdistancing, there’s one thing many of us could use right now — companionship. Pets are great companions during these difficult times — they can provide comedic relief, company, plenty of snuggles, and are great WFH co-workers. However, not every animal out there right now has a loving home to enjoy + their own companion during this time. One such pup is Bella — meet this adorable Yorkie in need of a home.
Update as of May 12th, 2020: Bella has been adopted.
Bella is a seven-year-old Yorkie who was surrendered when her owner became very, very sick. Given the circumstances, she’s now on the hunt for her new forever home as she’s up for adoption with Wise Animal Rescue.
Currently, Bella is living in a foster home and is doing great. Like most adorable pups, Bella loves attention and will happily sit in your lap for pets and kisses. She is also potty trained and lets her foster parents know when she has to go to the bathroom by going to the door, so there will be no need to retrain her in that respect.
Bella is also a toy lover. Beyond her toys, Bella enjoys going for short walks and saying hi to her neighbors —both human and four-legged. For families with another pet or children ages six and up, Bella would be a great addition. Currently, her foster parents are unsure if she can live with a cat, but are happy to cat test for any approved adopter.

The organization also works with veterinary practices to help nurse any dogs in poor health back to good health and help save dogs’ lives. According to the organization’s website, the central mission of Wise is to, “ensure that all dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on shots, and microchipped. Prior to adoption, all of our dogs are placed into responsible loving foster homes to be socialized and trained rather than put in a shelter environment.”
