Calling all tea lovers! A new tea shop has recently opened in Jersey City and it has every kind of tea one could think of. Located at 110 1st Street, A-Yo is in a quieter part of town, which makes for a convenient low-key meetup spot for friends. Read on to learn more about A-Yo Tea Shop.
Coming to Jersey City
A-Yo Tea Shop is the second location of OJBK Tea Shop from Brooklyn, NY. Everything is the same except for the name and the specialty tea. Brooklyn’s specialty is the Darjeeling Milk Tea and NJ’s exclusive is the Ceylon Milk Tea.

The Jersey City location opened at the end of September and is already becoming a popular meetup spot for friends and co-workers, given it’s a quiet space and there are tables and chairs for seating. It’s also a nice place to grab a drink on the go after a workout at the nearby studios (CycleBar, F45, CKO Kickboxing).
All About the Tea
The great thing about the A-Yo experience is that the tea is completely customizable. The customer starts by selecting the type of tea: milk tea, pure tea, fruit tea, latte, or slush. Then, the customer chooses if he/she wants a topping (boba, crystal boba, milk foam, pudding, lychee jelly, or herbal jelly). Next, the customer can select the ice level: regular, less, no ice, or hot; and the sugar level: 100 percent, 70 percent, 50 percent, 30 percent, or zero percent.
The milk teas are non-dairy-based. The only tea that has dairy in it is the brown sugar latte with boba, which is made with whole milk.
The flavors of teas are as follows. For milk tea: Four Seasons green milk tea, Ceylon, Mountain Oolong, brown rice, chocolate, almond, caramel, taro, and jasmine. For the fruit teas, all of which are made with green tea, there is white peach, passionfruit, mango, grapefruit, lychee, honey, yogurt, rose honey lemon, and aloe honey lemon.
There are two slush flavors: passion fruit and mango, and there are three pure tea flavors: Four Seasons green tea, jasmine green tea, and oolong tea.
For coffee lovers, there is a small menu for coffee. This includes a latte, oat latte, almond latte, espresso, and Americano. All are available iced or hot.
