Back in September 2022, we got word that a cafe specializing in gourmet toast and juices was coming to uptown Hoboken at 1450 Washington Street. The cafe, called Toastique, was founded by Brianna Keefe a few years ago in hopes that she could create clean, healthy, and delicious meals to share with different communities. Though the shop started with only one storefront in DC, it now has locations all around the DC area and even in Colorado — and it’s continuing to expand. It also currently has one other New Jersey location in Stone Harbor. Toastique sells gourmet toast (yes, including avocado toast), bowls, smoothies, and juices. Now, the spot shared with HG this week that the grand opening will be on Saturday, January 21st, 2023 from 7AM to 5PM. Read on for what we know about Toastique’s newest Hoboken location.

How Toastique Got Its Start

Toastique was founded by Brianna Keef, a woman who has always cared about food, nutrition, and fitness. She grew up making daily smoothies and juices, which sparked a dream to open up a healthy, clean-eating cafe.

These smoothies and juices were soon joined by Brianna’s avocado toast, which she then expanded to create different combinations and assortments of healthy toasts.

“Brianna appreciates beauty in a simple and honest form,” the website reads. “She takes the color of the fresh, crisp produce, mixes it with her passion and love of healthy living to create the beautiful delicacies of Toastique.”

in 2018, alongside partner Kyle Izett, Brianna opened up the first Toastique Cafe location in the Wharf District of Washington D.C. — and she did it in just 40 days. Without spending a cent on marketing, Toastique’s flagship shop generated more than $1 million in sales in its first year. Toastique then expanded to Alexandria, Virginia. During the pandemic, Toastique stayed afloat with delivery options and was even able to franchise the business with its expansion in Stone Harbor, NJ. Now, the shop is expected to be popping up in various states all around the country.

Unsurprisingly, there are lots of yummy toasts on the menu at Toastique. From the avocado smash toast to the 3 cheese Italian to smoked salmon, there are lots of savory and flavorful options to choose from. There are also a variety of acai, pitaya, and other smoothie bowls featuring different fruits and toppings. Juices are cold pressed daily, so there’s a rotating juice menu — but each is curated with bright flavors that are designed to be fresh + healthy. Finally, there are brightly-colored fruit smoothies that almost resemble a rainbow when lined up beside each other.
