Alessio’s has been a fan favorite since it opened its doors at 539 Park Avenue at the height of the pandemic lockdown.  It quickly became known for its pizza, gelato, pastries, and all-around great quality products. The café announced last year that it will be opening a second location at the kiosk in Pier A Park — and this year Alessio’s will be back with two kiosks instead of one. Read on to learn more about Alessio’s and its Hoboken outposts along the pier.

Expanding to Pier A

According to the city of Hoboken, Alessio’s bid to run two kiosks was approved at the City Council meeting on May 19th, 2022 after previously using one kiosk in 2021. The Italian spot’s new location at Pier A last year offered many of the popular dishes from the main cafe. Owner Luca Infantino also plans to host entertainment and seasonal events for customers at the park.

“We are very excited, we have been working on this for a few months now! It’s a great opportunity for us and especially for Hoboken residents and visitors who can finally find drinks and food options at [the] park,” Infantino told Hoboken Girl last year.

Luca hopes to continue to grow Alessio’s even further. “I am always looking for opportunities for growth, and potential partnerships, maybe a seasonal store in the Hamptons next year and dreams to scale the business up nationwide,” he explained.

Alessio’s is owned by Luca Infantino, an Italian native. He fell in love with Hoboken and knew that this is where he wanted to open a business. The eatery was named after his son.

The café serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as gelato and pastries. Some of the popular products include the Pizza alla Pala Metro Style, many sandwiches and paninis, and of course, the imported gelato, straight from Italy.

“Some of my favorite dishes from the cafe are the Morning Wrap and the Bold and Beautiful for breakfast, as well as the Parma and The Hoboken and the Venezia paninis. I love my strong coffee and cold brew as well as our imported gelato,” said Luca.
