Hoboken Hospitality’s 1st Annual Cinco de Mayo Block Party
Cinco de Mayo is a day to celebrate with neighbors + friends. Everyone is invited to spend Sunday, May 5th at Hoboken’s Cinco De Mayo Block Party. This family-friendly event is free + open to the public.
“We’d love to invite family and friends, near and far, to come out and celebrate Cinco De Mayo with us,” Jason Herrera, Executive Chef with Fat Taco + Hoboken Hospitality, told The Hoboken Girl.
The event runs from 11AM-7PM in the heart of Hoboken on Newark Street between River and Hudson. Anyone interested in joining the festivities can RSVP for free on Eventbrite. The all-day event will feature food, music, drinks, games, vendors, + entertainment.
“For the first time ever, our Hospitality Group is closing down an entire block to host an unforgettable experience and create an immersive atmosphere while enjoying great food and drinks with family and friends,” Adam D’Aleo, Guest Experience Manager with Hoboken Hospitality, told The Hoboken Girl.
Local Vendors + Live Music
This fun-filled block party will feature mariachi bands, live music, and a stage with entertainment. There will be plenty of entertainment to watch + enjoy from the audience. There will be a separate area where Fat Taco will be serving up their delicious Mexican creations and famous margaritas.
In addition to the live music, games, and entertainment, the festival will feature tons of local businesses. Hoboken’s Cinco De Mayo Block Party, presented by Fat Taco, has partnered with the following vendors to celebrate some exciting small businesses + organizations in Hudson County:
The Bond Society — A fine jewelry boutique that sells permanent jewelry.
Hello Hydration — A local med spa with a menu of cosmetic skin care services like Botox, fillers, + microneedling.
Rumble Boxing — A boutique kickboxing gym with a location in Hoboken.
Hayley’s Donut — A women-owned bakery that specializes in gluten-free and nut-free donuts.
Tommy Scoops Ice Cream — This ice cream truck serves class flavors + has tons of toppings like Lucky Charms cereal, crushed Oreos, and strawberry syrup.
Double Dough — Custom cookies and cakes handmade by local sisters Jordan + Joelle Hernandez.
Hoboken Shelter — A nonprofit organization helping unhoused people find shelter.
The Station — A cannabis dispensary in the heart of Hoboken.
Hoboken Cigars — A local cigar shop that has been in the neighborhood since 2001.
The event will celebrate local Hudson County businesses + vendor booths will be set up around the block party. This fun and immersive atmosphere will have something for everyone. More vendors are expected to join the line-up, so keep an eye out for additional booths while exploring the block party.
Hoboken’s “House of Birria”
Fat Taco, Hoboken’s “House of Birria,” is presenting the Cinco de Mayo Block Party. This eatery specializes in modern Mexican cuisine. Menu highlights include Birria Tacos (slow-cooked brisket + short ribs), Birria Mac + Cheese, Margarita Shrimp Tacos, Bang Bang Cauliflower Tacos, + a tequila bar with tons of different margaritas.
On Friday and Saturday nights, Fat Taco is open late so locals can party with some of New Jersey’s best DJs.
Foodies know that Fat Taco has one of Hoboken’s best brunch party events every Saturday + Sunday. Diners can enjoy Margarita Towers, French Toast Skewers, Breakfast Quesadillas, and Fluffy Pancakes during Brunch.
