7th Street Burger is moving its Hoboken location further downtown. Signage is now up at 112 Washington Street, indicating that the NYC-based burger chain is taking over the former Sticky’s space, which closed in February 2025. 7th Street previously confirmed the move with the Hoboken Girl team earlier this year, citing a need for a larger space as the reason behind the relocation. The new location is expected to open in summer 2026. Keep reading for what we know about 7th Street Burger’s upcoming Hoboken outpost.
The Details
In February 2025, Sticky’s, a NYC-based chicken-finger chain, quietly closed its downtown Hoboken storefront. The closure was indicative of larger financial issues for the restaurant, which, as recently as June 2025, had warned of closing all locations, per Yahoo! Finance.
Since then, 112 Washington Street in Hoboken has sat vacant, but it seems that when one NYC chain closes its doors, another chain opens: 7th Street Burger has confirmed plans to move into the former Sticky’s space, leaving its current Hoboken location at 410 Washington Street.

Signage was first spotted by an eagle-eyed Hoboken Girl reader in August 2025, and the restaurant later confirmed the plans with the Hoboken Girl team. “We wanted a bigger space closer to the bars,” 7th Street shared regarding the move. As of May 2026, the updates look nearly complete. We’ll update this piece with more details as they become available.
About 7th Street Burger
7th Street Burger is relatively new to the foodie scene. It opened its first East Village location in 2021, but in that time, it has been affectionately referred to by many as NYC’s best smash burger. While some critics call it “overrated,” the burger joint has since expanded to over 10 locations, with no signs of slowing down.

So what makes 7th Street so special? This spot is a casual, grab-and-go spot; a quintessential take-out burger joint with limited menu items and even fewer tables. There are four burger options: single cheeseburger, double cheeseburger, single vegan Impossible™ burger, and double vegan Impossible™ burger. Anyone who’s ever struggled with indecision will find a home at 7th Street.
