The Living Room at the W Hotel has long been a spot for drinks pre- or post-dinner on the waterfront, and even a place where locals or hotel guests get some R&R in the lounge. Back in early 2025, the W Hotel closed its Living Room area for renovations to the lobby bar and lounge, and on June 12, 2025 — it will finally be revealed to the public.
The space has been covered for several months now, even during the latest Cowboy Carter activation experience pre-Beyoncé concert (see below). On May 29th, 2025, a sneak preview of some of the space was revealed during an event, with a few quick snaps:

The renovation is expected to be revealed with the W’s aim to “enhance the ambiance and functionality of the space, aligning with the hotel’s commitment to providing a vibrant social atmosphere.” During the renovation period, Halifax remained open for food and drinks.

At first glance, the big change is that the bar is moved to a different location, which creates a better flow for the space.

According to sources close to the project as well as the Marriott website, in addition to the Living Room lounge, the hotel has updated its lobby and all guest rooms. “These renovations are part of the hotel’s initiative to offer an elevated experience for guests, ensuring that all areas reflect contemporary design and comfort standards,” the website explained.

One resident who lives in the building shared with The Hoboken Girl some of their thoughts, noting, “It’s been annoying to say the least, but the results are already looking amazing — can’t wait to see the rest!” The space will be open to the public after June 12, 2025.
