St. Matthew Trinity Lunchtime Ministry | 8th + Hudson Streets

St. Matthew Trinity Lutheran Church hosts a lunchtime ministry to provide warm meals, hospitality, and community for those in need of food and shelter. It can use volunteer help anytime from Monday to Thursday, 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Volunteer tasks include meal preparation, meal serving, sorting donations, and cleaning. Friends of Ferris Triangle Park supports the Ferris Triangle Park, working hard to keep it clean and lively with community events. Volunteers within the organization can help bag + distribute groceries for its food pantry on the third Friday + Saturday of each month, and the organization also distributes diapers and baby formula every Thursday to those in need. Opportunities to tutor kids are also available, which can even be done through Zoom.

Hudson County CASA | 442 Hoboken Avenue

Hudson County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a volunteer-based non-profit dedicated to supporting the lives of foster children. CASA Volunteers are paired with a foster child and get to know that child through monthly visits. CASA advocates work for the child’s best interest and communicate with everyone involved in the case, with the ultimate goal of placing them in a safe, permanent home.
