    About Virgo

Virgo is the sixth sign of the Zodiac and governs the house of health and healing. Being of the practical and everyday rigmarole, Virgo encompasses the physical when it comes to energy and stamina. Health and nutrition, caring for the body, creating a routine, and delegating tasks are all governed under the sixth house.

The element of Virgo is Earth, which is feminine, foundational, and fertile. Thinking of fresh soil, imagine its ability to grow and manifest a lush garden, a large forest, or even a single flower. Because Virgo is ruled by Mercury, the messenger planet, you can expect the focus of Virgo to be on communication of needs. Because of the combination of tangible and expression, Virgos are very adept at getting things done.

Virgo also has a “mutable” quality. Of the three qualities {the other two being fixed and cardinal,} mutable denotes a transition. As their main focus is to relate through speech and movement, the end goal is change. As the signs that come at the end of the seasons, they have learned the lessons within them and seek planning for the next stage.

In the Tarot deck, Virgo’s ruling card is the Hermit. This card represents inward focus and self-reflection. Being the sign of service in the zodiac, Virgo energy makes for some of the best healers and teachers. However, the Hermit reminds us to also look within and care for ourselves, so we don’t pour from an empty cup. It also points to the ability for Virgos to work quietly behind the scenes, so all of their creation looks effortless.

Some celebs that you may or may not have known were Virgos have noticeable attention to detail. For example, Beyoncé is an excellent example of a Virgo. With her quiet and steady work, she’ll burst onto the scene unannounced with a project as spectacular as Lemonade. Keanu Reeves has recently been in the media with the new reputation of being, well, just a really good guy. That type of wise service is exactly what Virgo energy brings to the table. Speaking of acts of service, Mother Theresa was also a Virgo. Between ruling the house of health, giving back to the community, and hard and diligent work, Mother Theresa is the epitome of a Virgo.

What Virgo Season Means for You

Virgo energy is dedicated and organized. This is a great time to do some Marie Kondo-ing around your home and to restructure your routine. Volunteering and helping out your fellow man is also encouraged over this transit. It’s a more productive, albeit very necessary, season.

If you want to go deeper, go back to the article on the Twelve Astrological Houses and see where Virgo lands in your chart. Then, depending on what central theme that house influences, you can expect to bring some organized energy into that subject.

    Happy Virgo season!
