It’s time to sit back, relax, and fill up your weekend with a full list of fun things to do in Hudson County. Whether you want to experience theater, wine tastings, the ultimate Halloween bar crawl, or even take a FREE coding class to occupy your free time, we’ve got you covered. Shaka Bowl 1-Year Anniversary Party: Sunday, October 22nd from 11:00AM to 3:00PM


For one year, Shaka Bowl has been serving up healthy acai bowls, poké bowls, and more in the Mile Square, so it’s time to celebrate! Their one-year anniversary party at the restaurant {720 Monroe} will have live music, foods, prizes {we’re talking $200 Shaka Bowl gift cards and other local freebies}, face painting, and even a bounce house. All proceeds from raffle tickets being sold at the event {with prizes from other local businesses in the area} will be donated to a local breast cancer charity. Come stop by for a bowl and some fun. PS: Word on the street is they’re opening their second location in early 2018!

Coditum Class Open House: Sunday, October 22nd from 10:00AM-4:00PM 


Come check out Coditum’s newest Monroe Center lab {Unit C-513} and test out a free coding class while you’re at it. You’ll literally learn all about Java and Python + other musts when working with computer programming. Whether you’re nine or 90, beginner or advanced, everyone of all ages is welcome to work their brains in a new way. You never know what doors coding could open for you! If you don’t want to dress up this Halloween {but you of course still want to do something fun}, you won’t want to miss our first Flow-in-the-Dark yoga event with Hudson Yoga Project at Local Barre West — complete with Halloween-themed treats post-yoga. The vinyasa flow class is perfect for all levels, so grab your brightest yoga gear and prepare to get glowing. We’ll provide the glow sticks and live DJ {DJ Monopoli} — as well as pumpkin cookies from Insomnia Cookies, gluten-free and vegan treats from Om Sweet Home, seasonal poké bowl samples from Makai Poke Co., cider and beer samples from Hoboken Brewing Company, skincare samples from EC Beauty Studio, and coffee from Jefferson’s Coffee. PaintZen Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser: ALL MONTH LONG


During the entire month of October, pink isn’t just for Wednesdays. PaintZen will donate to the Susan G. Komen foundation if you feature any shade of pink on your home. We couldn’t think of a better reason to paint the town pink. Find out more here.

Grand Opening of The Institute For Women’s Health: Thursday, October 19th from 6:00PM-9:00PM


Nothing is more important than your health, and now it’s going to be easier than ever with the grand opening of The Institute for Women’s Health at the Hoboken University Medical Center {308 Willow Ave}. At the event, you can meet women in the community and the team of CarePoint Health, mingle with local vendors including the Amazing Lash Studio and Spa Bar, and enjoy light refreshments. Women Rising, Stories of Hope: Thursday, October 19th at 7:00PM


In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Women Rising is bringing back its series “Stories of Hope,” at Hudson County Community College {25 Journal Square}, which will feature stories from survivors and the people who helped them along the way. Theatre in The Heights: Friday, October 20th at 7:30PM


Head out to the Statuary {53 Congress Sreet} for a staged reading series by Mackenzie McBride. She’ll read A Lovely Damaged Quality as part of the Theatre in the Heights series. There’s a suggested donation of $10 or $15 at the doors, and refreshments will be served. RSVP here.

Spanish Wine Tasting at Cork Wines + Spirits: Friday, October 20th from 5:00PM-8:00PM

31st Annual Hoboken House Tour: Sunday, October 22nd from 10:00AM-4:00PM


A favorite fundraiser for the Hoboken Museum, the self-guided Hoboken House Tour will feature over eight private brownstones and brand-new condos in uptown and downtown, so you can experience all the gorgeous architecture the city has to offer.
