When you’re in the mood to get your nails done, you don’t have to travel far in Hoboken or Jersey City to find a spot. But with so many great salons in the area, once you find your local fav, it can be hard to get out and try different ones. If you’re looking for a great new nail salon to try, consider Spa Nature in Jersey City. We’re fans of this spot in the Paulus Hook neighborhood because it’s clean, the services are relaxing, and everything is very affordable. Plus, their additional spa services alone are worth the trip. Keep reading to learn more what makes Spa Nature in Jersey City a nail salon worth visiting.

Location

Spa Nature is located at 18 Park View Ave in Jersey City on the ground floor of 18 Park Apartments. It’s right next to the Marin Boulevard light rail stop, which is convenient if you’re traveling from Hoboken.

B18 Coffee Kitchen and PrkUp Coffee are two great cafes close to Spa Nature if you want to grab a drink to bring with you into the salon.

The owners have actually had a nail salon in Jersey City for about 20 years. Their previous location was open for about 14 years and Spa Nature has now been open for almost six years.

Experience

Appointments can be made by calling the salon at (201) 685-5007 and walk-ins are accepted if they are not fully booked. The owner — along with everyone else we spoke to — was very friendly and helpful. Once you walk inside, you are greeted warmly and asked to wash your hands before selecting your nail polish color.

Cash, Visa, and Mastercards are accepted for services but only cash is accepted for tips. There is an ATM in the salon if needed.

The space feels huge compared to some of the other salons in the area. The drying bar sits in front of floor-to-ceiling windows so you can people-watch while you wait for your nails to dry. These windows also let in a lot of natural light which makes the space feel bright and open.

Massage chairs for pedicures line one wall and the manicure stations line another. There are two TVs in the space as well.

Masks are optional at Spa Nature but most of the technicians were wearing one during our most recent visit in mid-November 2022.

Nail Services

Spa Nature offers a variety of excellent nail services including classic manicures, gel manicures, classic pedicures, spa pedicures, kid manicures, and kid pedicures. For an extra charge, enjoy a lavender and mint or a lemongrass and green tea spa pedicure.

Prices are reasonable, especially for the classic mani-pedi. The classic mani includes a relaxing shoulder rub and the classic pedi comes with a shoulder rub, leg massage, and hot stone calf massage — yes, a hot stone massage is included in the classic pedicure. That’s something you don’t see at most salons.

They also have a great selection of OPI and Essie nail polishes. Nail art is available but make sure to mention this when making the appointment.

Nail enhancements like UV Gel Extensions or UV Fill-ins are available, however, they do not offer acrylics. Spa Nature told us they focus on natural nails — manicures and gels — and they don’t offer acrylics because these have an unpleasant smell and are damaging to natural nails.

Spa Services

Spa Nature offers more than just nail services. There is a full menu of spa offerings including reflexology, facials, chair massages, deep tissue massages, Swedish massages, and aromatherapy massages.

Waxing services and eyelash extensions are also available if you want to get in some additional pampering.

The Verdict

After a classic mani and pedi we give this spa two well-manicured thumbs up. The space smells lovely, plus it’s bright, quiet, and relaxing. Everything is clean and the owner and all of the technicians were friendly and helpful. The services are a great deal especially since the classic mani-pedis both come with a shoulder massage. Spa Nature told us they don’t overbook or rush services which means clients can actually settle in and enjoy the experience.
