The Great American Solar Eclipse will take place on April 8th, 2024. This phenomenon is when the moon comes between the Earth and the sun, temporarily blocking the sun’s light to the Earth. This eclipse is notable because many Americans are within 200 miles of the path of totality, which means the sun will be totally blocked by the moon. Here in Hudson County, many businesses have their takes on the solar event, serving up special treats and eclipse-watching events. Many museums, parks, and other local spots throughout Hoboken + Jersey City are gearing up with Solar Eclipse viewing parties or other space-inspired events. Read on for a list of Solar Eclipse events and treats to get in and around the Hoboken + Jersey City area.

Disclaimer: To view the 2024 Solar Eclipse, you must wear Solar Eclipse glasses. See below for a list of places that will be providing them.
