About Skyway 

Atlantic City Country Club, Seaview – the Bay Course, and Ballamor Golf Club. These courses were ranked one, two, and three on the 2018 Golf Advisor Top N.J. Public Courses list. It may come to everyone’s surprise, however, that the no.13 ranked course on that list sits in Hudson County. Skyway Golf Course at Lincoln Park West is a nine-hole, par 36, public course sitting along the Hackensack River. One word to describe it would be convenient. With the ability to squeeze in nine holes before work or after, it is the perfect situation for the Hudson County lifestyle.

What to Expect at Skyway

Accessible via a short Uber ride away, Skyway features an equal number of par three, par four, and par-five holes, creating a stimulating assortment. The best part is, at a decent pace, a round will be finished well within two hours. If rushing to finish isn’t an issue, play nine holes twice to get the full 18-hole experience.  For those who live in Hudson County, getting a “membership” makes Skyway an even better option. Resident Cards may be purchased which would allow the holder to book tee times in advance of non-card holders as well as receive the preferred County Resident rate. The annual prices for that card are $55 for residents, $35 for juniors 17 years old or younger, and $35 for seniors 62 years or older.  To download the application, click here.

The Game

In terms of play, this course adheres to everyone’s game. If you are just learning the game, starting on a nine-hole course usually is a better bet after some practice at a range. On the other hand, if an experienced golfer, the course is challenging enough to provide a great few hours of play. Basically, whether you are Tiger Woods or Happy Gilmore, you are going to enjoy yourself. The conditions are known to be high-quality and the staff at Skyway have an exceptional reputation. Anyone who has played a few rounds knows how those two things can affect hours spent golfing. It makes a difference.

Additionally, like many other Hudson County views, Skyway follows suit and does not disappoint. The par-five third hole provides an excellent view of downtown Manhattan from its fairway. Many of the other holes encompass river views which are pristine, especially during sunset.
