2023 marks the 22nd anniversary of 9/11. To honor the lives lost, Hudson County holds different kinds of tributes, memorials, and other events for the tragedy that occurred on September 11th, 2001. We have put together a list of different 9/11 events happening in Hoboken, Jersey City, and other surrounding Hudson County cities. 9/11 Memorial Ceremony | 1379 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus
September 11th | 8:30AM
In the early part of Monday morning, Secaucus will host a memorial ceremony in honor of those Secaucus residents and others who lost their lives on 9/11. It will be specifically held at a specialized memorial site at Secaucus Public Library.

9/11 Annual Memorial Ceremony 2023 | Hudson River Waterfront Walkway, Jersey City
September 11th | 8:30AM – 11:30AM
Jersey City will host its annual 9/11 ceremony. The city, along with Mayor Fulop and the Jersey City Municipal Council will come together to remember those lives that were lost. The event will be held on the Hudson River Walkway at Grand Street.
Hudson County Community College 9/11 Memorial | 71 Sip Avenue, Jersey City
September 11th | 10AM – 12PM
9/11 survivor Victoria Regina Lockhart will be the keynote speaker of HCCC’s event. She is a singer and author and will recount memories of 9/11 from her latest book, The Day I Lived, and how the tragic day unfolded.
9/11 Interfaith Memorial Services | Pier A Park, Hoboken
September 11th | 5PM
Hoboken invites residents to attend this annual memorial held in honor of 9/11. This event is held at Pier A Park at Hoboken’s 9/11 Memorial. Guests will be able to see the view of the World Trade Center as the ceremony takes place.
Patriot’s Day | 30th Street, Union City
September 11th | 6PM
Mayor Brian P. Stack and the Board of Commissioners will host a Patriot’s Day event for Union City residents. It will be a ceremony of remembrance at 6PM at Liberty Plaza.
9/11 Tribute Ride | 1 Audrey Zapp Drive, Jersey City
September 11th | 6PM – 11PM
New Jersey State Police will escort a ride toward the 9/11 Empty Sky Memorial at Liberty State Park. Bikers will be able to view the 9/11 Tribute in Light in honor of the lives lost that day. The bike ride will begin at Harold’s New York Deli in Edison, NJ, and end at the memorial in Jersey City.

Interfaith Memorial Service + Candlelight Vigil | 51 Port Terminal Boulevard, Bayonne
September 11th | 7PM
Bayonne will host an evening ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial in Harbor View Memorial Park. members from Bayonne Interfaith Clergy will be providing prayers, readings, and reflections. There will also be musicians who will play live music and sing. Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis will be closing the ceremony with some remarks.
