Brothers Mario and Giuseppe opened San Giuseppe because they wanted to bring authentic, homestyle Italian cuisine to Hoboken. They grew up just across the river in Little Italy and then Mario moved to Hoboken 10 years ago with Giuseppe following suit last year. {Welcome Giuseppe!} The brothers grew up working in Italian restaurants, pastry shops, and delis and even had a hand in managing the extended family’s Italian Restaurant in NYC. Guiseppe told Hoboken Girl, “Hoboken residents are our extended family. We love seeing regular customers, getting to know them and their friends/family. We also love to serve our community by donating to First Responders and the local Hoboken Shelter.”
The Menu
All the recipes on the menu originated in Italy and have been handed down for generations. The eatery specializes in dishes such as coal-fired pizzas, homemade pasta, entrees, and desserts. Start off with one {or three} of the many appetizers such as burrata, meatball parm sliders, baked clams, or rice balls {cue the drooling emoji}. Then you’ll have to decide if you move onto a salad, sandwich, calzone, or pizza {good luck with this!}.
The menu also features pasta, tons of sides to pick from, a kids menu, and of course — traditional Italian desserts such as cannolis, tiramisu, and more.

Catering is also available to anyone looking to host friends and family at home or if you’re having an event off-site somewhere else. The catering menu features many of the dishes available at the restaurant plus sides and desserts. You can pick from a half or full tray for most dishes and can even pick the size of the pizzas you want {all depending on how many people you’re feeding}. Safety During COVID-19
All employees at San Giuseppe are required to wash their hands and wear face coverings and are taking the precautions extremely seriously. The restaurant has high-temperature dishwashers that disinfect all the glasses, plates, and utensils.
Of course, social distancing guidelines are being followed with the layout of the tables for both indoor and outdoor areas — with lots of extra outdoor seating.
All customers are required to wear face coverings unless they are seated at their table. They also installed QR code menus for a contactless way to look at the menu.
