Although this season started with record high temps, it’s finally starting to feel like cozy time here in North Jersey. There’s nothing better than enjoying a delicious meal or drink by the fire on a cold winter night and these North Jersey restaurants are embracing the change of seasons and have a spot for you by their fire. Read on to discover the coziest bars and restaurants in North Jersey with fireplaces.

Amanda’s | 908 Washington Street A, Hoboken

This Argentinian-American eatery has been a staple in town for over 30 years. It’s located in a historic 19th-century brownstone and there’s a cozy fireplace in the library room. Some of the rooms can be rented out if you’re planning to host a holiday party. Brunch and dinner are often accompanied by live music, plus there’s even an early bird dinner special. We especially love the house-made Argentinian empanadas and the Belgian waffles topped with dulce de leche.

Camp Hamilton | 706 Jersey Avenue, Jersey City

Camp Hamilton is a perfect option for those winter nights when it’s not quite so cold. But don’t worry, there are heaters and fire pits in this backyard bar if you start to get chilly. It’s an offshoot of Hamilton Inn and the full menu, including brunch, is available on winter weekends.

Carpe Diem | 1405 Grand Street, Hoboken

We love settling in for a drink at Carpe Diem, especially when we’re lucky enough to snag one of the fireside armchairs. It’s an Irish pub with some hearty dishes, like Shepard’s Pie and Mushroom Soup, to warm you up on cold winter nights. They make a great boozy hot chocolate for some additional cozy winter vibes.

Corgi Spirits Distillery | 1 Distillery Drive, Jersey City

Corgi Spirits are available in liquor stores around Hoboken + Jersey City but stop by the tasting room to enjoy a seasonal craft cocktail made from the delicious gin, whiskey, or vodka. There’s a large English-inspired sitting room complete with a fireplace to sip a Corgi Cuppa or another cozy drink.

This ivy-covered eatery features a leafy patio for warmer months, but step inside for a table in the cozy dining room. The brick fireplace and the white-table cloths help make this a romantic date night spot. Pasta, pizza, and filet mignon are all on the menu. On the weekends, this restaurant offers its signature Bottomless Bubbly Brunch.

Lighthorse Tavern | 199 Washington Street Jersey City

Lighthorse Tavern serves a classic American menu with cozy dishes like Red Wine Risotto and Pork Chop Marsala – perfect for winter nights. Guests can also enjoy fresh oysters straight from Fishers Island. During the summer, we love eating at one of their sidewalk tables, but during the colder months, the dining room is the place to be. The entire restaurant has a cozy ambiance, especially if you are lucky enough to snag a table by the fireplace.

Rooftop at Exchange Place | 1 Exchange Place, Jersey City

The Rooftop at Exchange Place is one of the best places to watch the sunset over the Hudson. There’s a long outdoor fire pit on the rooftop with plenty of seating. And best of all, happy hour runs here every day from 4-6PM  with discounts on some of their signature cocktails and snacks.

The Archer | 176 Newark Avenue, Jersey City

Hot mulled cider is on the menu at The Archer, which is just one of the many delicious drinks created at this excellent cocktail bar. There’s a full dinner menu including multiple dishes made with wild boar. It hosts live music on Wednesdays and Thursdays and there’s a fireplace to keep you cozy.
