Things we find chic: shopping sustainably. Things we find unchic: searching far and wide to find the best ways to do it. Hudson County is no stranger to previously loved pieces, with Hoboken and Jersey City being home to many of the top spots for thrifting and antiques. But Hoboken resident Victoria Corriston noticed the market was lacking something. Victoria turned her frustration into something new and created a pop-up thrift event called Nice Rack. Read on for more about Nice Rack and its upcoming events in Hoboken.
The Backstory
With thrifting and vintage shopping trending these days, Victoria knew that there would be tons of interest for women to come together and share clothes and a sense of community; she just had to figure out how to bring it to life and make a business out of it.
“I love a good closet clean-out. I’m always getting rid of pieces that don’t fit quite right anymore or that I just don’t feel great in. When I get ready for work, if I put a shirt on that I haven’t worn in a few months and don’t love it, I would toss it in a bag to donate or sell,” she told The Hoboken Girl. “But I was tired of the hassle of reselling online; ThredUp doesn’t let you set prices for what you send in and Poshmark can be a big lift if you have 30+ items. You have to take pictures, describe everything, price it and post it.”

When Victoria wanted to sell her clothes at her own prices, she figured others would want to do the same. “I thought, why not make an in-person, community-driven event about selling clothes, meeting people, and giving pieces a second life! It’s sustainable, it’s fun, and it turns something we all do, cleaning out our closets, into a profitable opportunity,” Victoria said.
Victoria started a business called The Corr Collective, which puts on pop-up thrifting events. The events are called Nice Rack and the whole permise is to make the closet clean-out process fun and build community at the same time.
“The events are called Nice Rack, it’s a play on words to embody the energy at these events,” she said.
“I’m sure many other women will feel the same but there’s such a sense of community around clothes – complimenting someone’s outfit, asking where it’s from, even lending out a fun dress and seeing your friend style it in a way you never thought of — that’s the whole idea behind Nice Rack events.”
“Honestly, Nice Rack is more of a creative project and passion than a traditional business. While making money is always a plus, my real goal is to build a space where women feel comfortable showing up as themselves, selling clothes they love, and connecting with others. It’s about community first, profit second.”
What to Expect
Victoria hopes buyers and sellers can get clothes, a little extra cash and something intangible out of her events: a community with a shared belief that style is innate to who we are and what we do.
The first Nice Rack event was in May at Black Bear Bar and Grill in Hoboken. Shoppers and buyers alike shared bites, drinks, laughs and of course — clothes.
With a few vintage and thrift shops in Hoboken already – Victoria made it clear that her events have a particular niche — individuality and autonomy.

“What makes Nice Rack different is that you’re in control,” she said, “you set the prices, you sell your items, and you make instant profit—no middleman or wait time.”
The premise of Corr Collective is its events are meant to be a curated closet clean-out — quality over quantity.
“I’ll still opt to donate a well-worn t-shirt, but Nice Rack is the perfect place to sell your never worn J.Crew dress or vintage blazer. It’s resale, but with style, intention, and personality,” Victoria said.
The first event back in May was somewhat of a trial run — getting out the kinks and ironing out the details — but there’s lots more to come from Corr Collective.
Victoria hopes future events can have themes — think wedding guest dresses, a night out at the Jersey Shore, winter ski trips, and more.
The hope is that at the end of every event, sellers leave with some extra cash in their pocket and some room in their closet for new finds and buyers discover something they love and maybe even decide to become sellers at a future event, Victoria said.
“More than anything, I want people to feel part of a community and want it to be fun and exciting! Shopping should feel personal and joyful and that’s what I aim to create!”
More to Come
“I already have a few more pop-ups planned,” said Victoria, “I’d love to have an event outside next time or at another location.”
