It can be difficult deciding whether to get pampered during a pandemic. Everyone wants to be as safe as possible and to trust that their salon follows proper safety protocols. We’ve all had a hard year, and deserve to pamper ourselves with a mani or pedi once in a while, but we still want to be cautious. To give locals some peace of mind, Hoboken Girl has compiled a list of nail salons in the area that go above and beyond following COVID-19 safety protocols, according to locals.

718 Beauty Bar {718 Washington Street}

718 Beauty Bar makes its clients feel very safe and at ease at all times. The salon follows all of the safety protocols, and the sanitation procedures are very thorough.

Bloom Spa Bloom spa on 4th and Washington is always clean and inviting, and even before the pandemic, the staff would go above and beyond with sanitation measures. Such measures include liners for pedicures, new packs of tools for each client, and now the salon upped its game even more.

Modern Nails {728 Washington Street A}

Locals are sure to feel safe when getting pampered at Modern Nails. The salon only allows half capacity {so essentially, every other chair}, temperatures are taken, clients must wash hands, no food or drinks are allowed, masks must be worn at all times, gloves are worn, and there is plexiglass all around for extra caution.

Nail Atelier {168 1st Street}

Nail Atelier follows all of the protocols and more, and have been taking many sanitation measures even prior to the pandemic. There are temperature checks, hand sanitizer, contact tracing forms, plexiglass, and masks are always worn.

The Nail Bar {501 9th Street # B}

Many locals pride The Nail Bar on its superior cleanliness. The staff is professional, hygienic, and locals are sure to feel safe when getting pampered at this uptown salon.

What Locals Say: “The Nail Bar in Hoboken! I’ve been going for years and have felt very safe and clean during COVID bc of all the protocols they’re taking — taking temps at the door, asking guests to wash their hands immediately upon entering the salon, installing plexiglass and plastic curtains between all pedicure and manicure stations, employees diligently wearing masks and washing hands. Plus they always do a phenomenal job and are so friendly! –Devin McGurgan

Sarai’s {1201 Adams Street}

Sarai’s on 12th and Adam’s is a hidden gem in uptown Hoboken. This quaint salon has rave Google reviews that all seem to say the same things. The salon is clean, the staff is friendly, professional, and consistent.

The Nail Story II {101 Clinton Street}

The Nail Story II offers excellent service and takes the health and safety of the clients very seriously. Appointments are required, masks must be worn, and both client and staff temperatures are taken.

Cuteticles in Jersey City is a local favorite for many reasons, one being its attention to cleanliness. Clients are sure to feel safe at any of the Cuteticles locations in Jersey City. 

What Locals Say: “They check your temperature when you enter, disinfectant for your hands, I was happy to see that almost everything they used was thrown away, when someone finished their service immediately the cleaning staff disinfected the area and where you put your feet is covered with disposable plastic, very clean. For clients needing acrylics, Nails by Jenny is the place to go. She is a solo nail artist so she only takes one client at a time. She follows all safety protocols including temperature checks, and masks are enforced at all times.
