Written by:

Oftentimes, people think that they can only purchase a puppy from a breeder — but we’re here to tell you that that concept is NOT true — thanks to the latest gaggle of pups rescued from Wise Animal Rescue! Meet Sparrow, a Mastiff puppy mix looking for her forever home [and being fostered in Hoboken by our founder, Jen Tripucka!], along with 3 of her siblings in Northern NJ. This little Mastiff/Lab {and we think Boxer?} girl was rescued from a shelter in South Carolina, brought to New Jersey at 8 weeks old with her siblings, and is now ready to be adopted! Read on for more about Sparrow, the Mastiff puppy mix looking for her forever home. She’s available via Wise Animal Rescue — click HERE to fill out the application — but be sure to read the below about requirements.

This beauty, who is 8 weeks old and about 25 lbs is set to be 100+ pounds.

“She’s super cuddly, sweet, and playful,” says Jen, her foster mom. She gets along with other dogs, kids, and cats — but due to her size, will be adopted to a home with children over the age of 6 and with at least one other dog who can show her the ropes. Large dog ownership experience also required.

The organization also works with veterinary practices to help nurse any dogs in poor health back to good health and help save dogs’ lives. The central mission of Wise is to “ensure that all dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on shots, and microchipped. Prior to adoption, all of our dogs are placed into responsible loving foster homes to be socialized and trained rather than put in a shelter environment.”
