The Best Spots in Hoboken + Jersey City for Frozen Drinks

It’s hot. With 90+ degree temp days upon us, the dog days of summer are in full swing. If sipping a frozen drink with a mini umbrella while on a hammock under a shady palm tree is not in the plans for the week/weekend, fret not as some of Hudson County’s favorite bars and restaurants are serving tons of frosty libations to take you to an island oasis far, far away. We’ve rounded up places in Hoboken + Jersey City to chill out with a glass of frosé or other yummy specialty frozen cocktails all summer long. Keep reading for a list of the best spots in Hoboken + Jersey City for a frozen drink.  


8th Street Tavern {800 Washington Street, Hoboken}

One of Hoboken’s oldest bars — since the ‘40s — this corner pub not only has free burgers on Fridays from 4:00PM to 7:00PM during happy hour but also has frosé and weekly frozen flavored margaritas, including a mango-flavored one.

Baja Restaurant {104 14th Street, Hoboken}

This popular taste of the southwest restaurant and bar in uptown Hoboken is the place to go for not only delicious Mexican grill combos but also fun frozen margaritas. The bar boasts an extensive list of fresh fruit flavors from mango and guava to tamarind and passion fruit with one of the largest collections of 100% Blue Agave Tequilas in the state.

Birch {92 River Street, Hoboken}

Home of the rosé, sangria, + mimosa alcohol-infused gelato {when the temps hit 90 degrees, the gelato is free — check the weather app this week}. Birch also has Babe Frosé and a frozen drink menu including margaritas and frozen Aperol spritzes during happy hour, plus a boozy brunch every weekend.

The Brass Rail {135 Washington Street, Hoboken}

The Brass Rail is a landmark restaurant restored to its original early 1900’s elegance and features frosé specials {add your own flavors} this summer which can be enjoyed while sitting at its outside sidewalk-side seating or during happy hour with some bar bites. Drinks are $10 each with choice of Aperol, mango, passion fruit, raspberry, or strawberry. For a kick to it, add a shot for an additional cost.

Cadillac Cantina {80 River Street, Hoboken}

Dine on tacos while sipping on frozen margaritas. Cool down over at Cadillac Cantina with a frozen marg during happy hour every Monday-Friday from 4:00PM-7:00PM.

Charrito’s {518 Washington Street, Hoboken}

With only one Hoboken location left in midtown, Charrito’s is no longer BYOB and serves a limited liquor menu, which includes different flavored margaritas, sangrias, and mojitos. Happy hour is from 4:00PM-7:00PM, Monday-Friday at the bar only.

City Bistro {56 14th Street, Hoboken}

This American bistro located in Uptown Hoboken is a three-floor restaurant, bar, and lounge. When it’s hot in the city, chill out on the roof with peach frosé and friends. Check out the other frozen drinks including a coconut rum and coconut water frozen cocktail, all found at the Rosé Bar on the rooftop.

East LA {508 Washington Street, Hoboken}

An institution in Hoboken since 1983, East LA, is known for its dangerously good frozen margaritas from watermelon to raspberry to coconut to cranberry to sangria to pineapple and beyond. Cool off this summer with their new special margaritas: a mimosa margarita and rosé margarita. Add some chips and guac your night is set.

The Madison Bar and Grill {1316 Washington Street, Hoboken}

The Madison Bar and Grill is a favorite Hoboken brunch spot but come during the week for a frosé and new this summer, a frozen Aperol spritzer – we are in heaven. The bar is open from 11:30AM-2:00AM.

Mikie Squared Bar + Grill {616 Washington Street, Hoboken}

Stop by this casual, patio-fronted Hoboken neighborhood sports bar and grill, in town since 2006, and order a frozen margarita in fab flavors including strawberry lime and peach with tequila + Triple Sec. Prices are $8 each.

Northern Soul Kitchen + Bar {700 1st Street, Hoboken}

Whether attending a live band show, an art show, or even a trivia night, drink the night away with one of Northern Soul’s peach, strawberry, or lime frozen margaritas for $6, or a have a frosé for $9 at brunch.

Orale Mexican Kitchen {1426 Willow Avenue, Hoboken and 341 Grove Street, Jersey City}

Both locations offer all-natural, daily flavors of frozen margaritas like blood orange or watermelon {prices are $11 or $7 during happy hour Monday-Friday, 3:00PM-7:00PM at the bar only or on Thursdays 3:00PM to close, at the restaurant}. The drinks are perfect to pair with the honey truffle guacamole.

Pier 13 {1301 Sinatra Drive, Hoboken}

There’s nothing better than enjoying a drink with a view of the Hudson and overlooking the NYC skyline.  Pier 13 is serving up some of the best and most creative frozen drinks in town including Miami Vice {strawberry mango and raspberry margarita}, margarita {add raspberry, peach, or mango flavor for $1}, piña colada, and strawberry daiquiri. Check out the new lemonade stands on the lawn, too. They sell non-alcoholic frozen lemonade for the kids and of course, spiked for the adults..

The Stewed Cow {400 Adams Street, Hoboken}

Put on some cowboy boots, and enjoy the ride on the bull at this old western-style saloon where bourbon makes everything better. The stewed cow currently has two frozen cocktails on the specialty cocktail list – The Chameleon {orange vodka, coconut rum, and lime juice} and the Mango Unchained {Tequila, Mango Juice, and Chipotle Simple Syrup}.

Union Hall {306 Sinatra Drive, Hoboken}

The gastropub on the waterfront is has launched a new drink menu for the summer and includes a spiked frosé  {rosé, Codigo Tequila, grapefruit, and lemon} and a Fraperitif {frosé, Contratto Aperitif, and prange}, both for $13.

Zafra {301 Willow Avenue, Hoboken}

Bring the liquor and they will do the blending for you at this Cuban-Latino hotspot. The bar staff is happy to mix your favorite Latin drinks or make one of their own custom blends including: daiquiri, mojito, piña colada, limonada, guarapo con ron {drinks mixed with rum}, margarita or sangrita {drinks to mix with tequila}, caipirinha {drink mixed with Cachaça}, or choose from a broad selection of non-alcoholic drinks including the house’s special frozen Ecuadorian limeade.

Jersey City

Cellar 335 {335 Newark Avenue, Jersey City}

For the dog days of summer enjoy Cellar 335’s frozen piña coladas or a New Orleans frozen daiquiri in four flavors: classic, Miami Vice {strawberry}, Hemmingway {grapefruit and maraschino}, and Mai Tai {almond and orange}. Happy hour is Tuesday-Friday 5:00PM-7:00PM for $2 off specialty cocktails.

Left Bank Burger Bar {194 Newark Avenue, Jersey City}

Alongside their tasty burgers and island vibes punch buckets, Left Bank offers a Le Frosé that includes frozen rosé wine, Greenhook gin, elderflower liqueur, lemon, and muddled strawberries for just $10. For non-alcoholic beverages try a cookies and cream shake for $7. Happy hour is Monday-Friday 4:00PM-7:00PM.

Come cool off at Jersey City’s outdoor waterfront pet-friendly spot with a piña colada or a frozen mojito for $10 – the perfect way to beat the heat.  Happy Hour Monday-Thursday from 4:00PM-7:00PM.

O’Hara’s Downtown {172 1st Street, Jersey City}

Boozy crosé is the name of the game – O’Hara’s is serving an adults-only summer slushie that is both cold and refreshing. 

Piggyback Bar {200 Hudson Street, Jersey City}

Nestled in the center of Harborside, Piggyback Bar pays homage to the culture and sights of Southeast Asia with an infusion of urban and gastropub appeal. Try the peach frosé or a Thai Chili Margarita for happy hour drink specials {Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 4:30PM-7:30PM, Wednesday from 11:00AM-8:00PM, and weekends 12:00PM-8:00PM with $5 frosés and $8 daiquiris.

Porta {135 Newark Avenue, Jersey City}

Porta Jersey City resides in a former pharmacy for added charm. Head to the rooftop and end the night with a watermelon frosé {and cool down from this super dense heat}.

Surf City {1 Marin Boulevard, Jersey City}

Head to Surf city to chill and relax with a frozen drink from a piña colada or a daiquiri to a margarita on the outdoor decks at this Jersey City beach bar + grill.

RoofTop at Exchange Place {1 Exchange Place, Jersey City}

Enjoy a Frosé {Juliette rosé wine and strawberry beach syrup} or the Sour to the People {Midori Sour Melon Liquor, Cruzan Rum, and fresh lime juice}, both $1 from one of the best views in Jersey City at this multi-level rooftop bar and terrace. The top-level is open from 12:00PM-12:00AM and the terrace level is open from 4:00PM-10:00PM.

Rumba Cubana {235 Pavonia Avenue, Jersey City}

Take a trip to Havana without leaving the states. From daiquiris, flavored margaritas, piña coladas topped with a pineapple, and mojitos with fresh cane sugar, Rumba Cubana has it all. If you’re going along the non-alcoholic route, the eatery also offers a non-alcoholic strawberry daiquiri and piña colada.

White Star Bar {179 Warren Street in Paulus Hook, Jersey City}

 White Star is a casual neighborhood American restaurant and craft cocktail bar in Jersey City. White Star Bar’s frosé is back for the summer {only at White Star on Warren} and they also have specials including a margarita and piña colada. Happy hour is from 4:00PM-7:00PM.

And for those that are looking for a non-alcoholic frozen drink, get to 7-Eleven and be a kid again with that icy refreshment, the Slurpee which comes in flavors like cherry, Coca-Cola, blue raspberry, piña colada {located 422 Washington Street Hoboken and five locations around Jersey City}.
