About Lake Naomi Club

Vepo Clean

In 1963, the Logan Steele family purchased 2,600 acres surrounding the lake, which eventually became the resort community we know and love today – Lake Naomi Club. Tucked in the Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania, LNC offers non-motorized boating, fishing, swimming, paddle boarding, sailing, kayaking, hiking, biking – pretty much every activity one can think of. The main clubhouse includes a boathouse, main beach, bar, and restaurant right on Miller Drive {a nod to the Millers who originally owned property surrounding the lake}, as well as a seasonal “Club Beach” that’s open in the summer. Right down the road, visitors will find the largest lakeside, heated, outdoor pool in Pennsylvania. This Olympic-sized pool is the first of two outdoor swimming pools in the club.

LNC includes two communities – Lake Naomi and Timber Trails. It is within Timber Trails that you will find the other outdoor pool with an aquatic climbing wall, nine-hole golf course, tennis center, and second clubhouse with a restaurant and pub. There is also a 56,000-square-foot community center with an indoor pool + splash park, fitness center, a basketball court, and game room. And visitors won’t have to skip their fitness routines either – there are plenty of group exercise classes to sign up for, including Pilates, yoga, POUND, and TRX.

Visiting from Hudson County

lake naomi travel

From Hoboken and Jersey City, the easiest way to get to Lake Naomi is to take I-80 West to I-380N to exit 3 for PA-940. If you are staying in a rental, the GPS sometimes has trouble identifying some of the smaller roads around the lake, so a pro-tip would be to use the Jubilee Restaurant {2067 PA-940, Pocono Pines, PA} as a reference point. This bar + restaurant is located at the top of Miller Drive by the Lake Naomi Clubhouse and also has amazing food and late-night fun.

Activities + Amenities

In addition to the aforementioned pools and community center, Lake Naomi offers plenty of rentable options to enjoy the lakes and ponds. Throughout the summer season, relax at one of the seven beaches staffed by certified lifeguards. Parking is available, but there are also trails accessible via bikes or one’s own two feet. Hop along from island to island or beach to beach by renting kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes at the main beach for two-hour, half-day or full-day rentals.

In the winter, if the green flag is flying that can only mean one thing – the lake is safe to skate on. Pond hockey and ice skating are popular among the residents and renters, and if you don’t have your own skates no need to worry because they are available to rent. Following along on Instagram will keep guests the most up-to-date on the open activities, including sledding, tubing, and sleigh rides. Pocono Pines is always at least 10 degrees colder than Hudson County, so it’s a good idea to always pack extra layers just in case.

Local Outdoor Attractions

At Lake Naomi Club, visitors are truly surrounded by nature {read – don’t forget about the bears}, and there are lots of activities located within driving distance from the community. Both popular ski resorts to Hudson County residents, Camelback Mountain {301 Resort Drive, Tannersville, PA} and Jack Frost – Big Boulder Mountain {434 Jack Frost Mountain Rd, White Haven, PA + 357 Big Boulder Drive, Lake Harmony, PA} are located 20 minutes down the road in either direction. Stop by Timberline Ski & Sport Shop {609 Route 940, Mount Pocono, PA} the night before or on your way to rent your equipment if you don’t want to wait in line at the mountain.

Also, check out Hickory Run State Park {3613 PA-534, White Haven, PA}, which has 44 miles of trails for hiking at a variety of skill levels. The Fireline, Gould, and Pine Hill Trails are all suitable for cross-country skiing in the winter. While in the warmer months, a short walk on the Hawk Falls trail leads to a popular waterfall. Tucked away in the northeast corner of the park, and perhaps the most jaw-dropping, is the must-see Boulder Field. During the last ice age, a glacier advanced from Canada to rest within one mile of the field, causing this 18-acre bed of rocks now known as a natural national landmark.

These are just some of the many activities and amenities Lake Naomi and the Pocono Pines area have to offer. Lake Naomi Club is the perfect getaway in any season and the only thing you’ll be worrying about throughout your visit is that lake time flies by too fast.
