Low Fidelity is one of the best spots to get a craft cocktail in Jersey City. Called LoFi by regulars, this neighborhood spot features a spacious backyard perfect for afternoon summer hangs. The Hoboken Girl recently stopped by LoFi to satisfy a Detroit-style pizza craving, and we’re already planning our next visit so we can keep working our way through the tantalizing menu. Keep reading to discover why Low Fidelity should be on your Jersey City bucket list if it isn’t already.
Low Fidelity Basics
Low Fidelity opened in 2017 and is run by the same team behind Downtown Jersey City’s beloved cocktail haunt The Archer. It’s located at 328 Palisade Avenue in The Heights and stays open late every day of the week — Monday through Thursday till 2AM, Friday through Sunday till 3AM.
There’s indoor seating and bar seating but when the weather is nice, the most coveted tables are in the backyard. It’s a sizable area with umbrella-covered tables and string lights.
According to the LoFi Instagram page, the bar occasionally hosts events — think NYE champagne toasts and live music. In 2019 and 2022, the owners helped put on a block party called ‘Lo-Fi Takes the Streets’ complete with food stands and local bands.

The Food
This Jersey City bar, despite being a late-night haunt, i is known for its Detroit-style pizza and the deep dish, chewy crust with crispy cheese does not disappoint. The pizza offerings include red and white sauce, a few specialty pies, and “red eye pizzas” served on weekends from 12PM to 4PM. Here’s just a taste:
- Margherita — Marinara, Mozzarella, Basil, Pecorino, Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Camp North Star — Sweet Sausage Meatballs, Roasted Red Peppers, Pennel Pollen, Mozzarella, Herbed Ricotta
- Earth First — Crimini Mushroom, Shitake Mushroom, Bourbon Caramelized Onion, Ricotta, Truffle Oil, Parsley
- The Jersey Cosmonaut — Pancetta, Roasted Heirloom Tomato, Fresh Basil, Fennel Pollen, Pecorino, Smoked Mozzarella, Vodka Sauce
- The Vermont Truckstop (Red Eye Pizza) — Scrambled Farm Egg, Maple Sausage, Smoked Bacon, Brick Cheese
In addition to pizza, the food menu includes sandwiches, rice bowls, appetizers, salads, and more. The Mexicali Chicken, Kale Caesar, and Warm Burrata are other stand-out dishes.
The Drinks
Alright, on to the cocktails. LoFi has an impressive cocktail menu with a mix of gin, Mexican rum, Mezcal, and sake elixirs — to name a few. In addition to the cocktails, there’s a full menu of beer, wine, and ciders.
The Vibe
Low Fidelity is a great spot for a casual date or group hangs. During our most recent afternoon visit, there were even a few young families with little ones hanging out.
The inside has a cool retro-industrial feel but the backyard feels like a hidden oasis. On a sunny weekend afternoon, you might have to get lucky to snag a spot outside, but the inside would be a great place to relax, too.

Our Thoughts
Low Fidelity is a Jersey City essential if you’re in the Heights, and if you haven’t been yet, we recommend adding it to your list ASAP. The cocktails are a stand-out in the area and feature some unique ingredients that you won’t find everywhere. We’ve been dreaming about the pizza ever since our last visit, and can’t wait to go back again soon for another hang in the backyard space.
