Nearly a year after her last visit to Hoboken, Jennifer Lopez has returned to the Mile Square. On Monday, April 7th, the singer, dancer, songer, and actress was in town fulfilling the last descriptor on that list, filming a new Netflix romcom called Office Romance. Film crews were spotted in downtown Hoboken, near 1st + River Streets and along the waterfront, where J Lo and co-star Bett Goldstein spent the majority of the day. Why Was J Lo in Hoboken?
Early in the morning on Monday, April 7th, film crews set up shop at 1st + River Streets in Hoboken. Shortly thereafter, eagle-eyed Hoboken Girl readers took to our DMs, curious which (if any) celebrities the project would be bringing to town.

A source close to the film confirmed with HG that the crew was that of Office Romance, a new Netflix romantic comedy co-written by Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein. Jennifer Lopez is set to co-star alongside Goldstein in the film, reprising her long-held title of Romcom Queen.

It wasn’t long before Jenny arrived on our block. At around 10AM, HG readers began sharing photos and videos of the “Let’s Get Loud” singer exiting a black SUV and heading towards the 1st + River Street set. Throughout the day, our inbox was full of footage from the scene — including a moment where J Lo stopped for a bite at a faux food truck called “Destiny Burritos.” Fun fact: I actually spotted this food truck earlier that day and wondered if it was a new business worth covering. Sadly, those burritos are not our destiny.
As of right now, it’s unclear if Office Romance‘s Hoboken stint was a one-day affair or if the crew will return for more filming. There were rumblings last week that the movie was shooting in downtown Jersey City, on the same day that Dennis Quaid was seen filming for the psychological thriller The Florist.

J Lo’s visit comes nearly a year after her last trip to Hoboken in March 2024, when she briefly dined at Hoboken’s oldest continuously operated restaurant, Elysian Cafe. Of course, we covered that too — and you can read about it here.
About Office Romance
Office Romance is an upcoming romantic comedy film co-written by Tedd Lasso team Brett Goldstein and Joe Kelly (Goldstein starred in the show, Kelly was one of three co-creators). Brett Goldstein is set to co-star in the film alongside Jennifer Lopez. Per Deadline, “there was a hot bidding war for the feature, which Netflix won.”
Producers on the film include “Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett for Ryder Picture Company; Goldstein and Kelly; as well as Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina for Nuyorican Films. Nuyorican’s Courtney Baxter is executive producer,” according to Deadline. Ol Parker is directing the movie.
