About La Festa Italiana

La Festa Italiana is held at Holy Rosary Church and has been around for over a century, celebrating Italian Heritage, food, and faith. Holy Rosary Church was actually the very first Italian Church in New Jersey and was a landing point for countless Italian immigrants who ventured to NJ during the early 1900s. The festival, commonly referred to as ‘The Feast,’ dates back to 1902 and included both religious events and a street festival with food + music.

Now, for five days every mid-August, the Italian Street Festival returns to celebrate Italian-American Culture with great local food, music, carnival games, and more. The festival typically culminates in a mass on the last day followed by a street parade and marching band.

What to Expect

As always, there will be a mix of food from local vendors, drinks, carnival games, and musical performances at this five-day festival.

At 7:00PM each night of the festival, there will be live music performing on the Mainstage — and La Festa Italiana recommends pairing the music with a sausage + pepper sandwich as well as a beer to enjoy the festivities.
