COVID-19 Health + Safety Precautions

As always, all equipment is wrapped in plastic which is replaced after every patient visit. Treatment rooms are sanitized and disinfected between patients with approved disinfectants as well as “fogged” with hypochlorous acid.
There have also been some operational changes put in place that are designed to keep patients and staff safe:
- Expanded office hours to allow more time between patients.
- Staggered appointment scheduling to limit patient numbers in the office.
- Pre-visit health screening of all patients.
- Special procedures for patients entering and leaving the office, including taking temperature.
- Magazines and periodicals will not be available in the waiting room.
- Teledentistry consultations and healing checks may be scheduled remotely to minimize contact.
- Patients are given antibacterial/antiviral mouthwash before any dental care.
Personal protective equipment and disinfectant technology is of course also being used in the office, including HEPA air filters to clean and sanitize the air with UV-C light for a deeper level of air sanitation. There’s a plexiglass partition that’s been installed at the reception counter to help protect patients and the administrative team and personal protective equipment including face shields, head coverings, masks, gloves, and gowns will be worn by the clinical team and face masks and gloves by the administrative team.
That’s some serious COVID-19 precautions and definitely makes us feel more at ease, given the times.
