As spring settles in and the weather starts warming up, there is nothing like a nice scoop or two (or five, we don’t judge) of ice cream to brighten up your day. Soon, you can add another spot to your list to try out, and this one has a twist. An ice cream spot and cafe called Happy Dayz that originated in Middlesex County recently put up signage on Morgan Street at the Canopy by Hilton in Jersey City. The new spot will serve up Indian-inspired ice cream as well as other food and drink items, including vegetarian options. Read on for more about Happy Dayz and its expansion to Hudson County.
The Details + About Happy Dayz
The Jersey City location of Happy Dayz will be at the Canopy by Hilton at 159 Morgan Street in the powerhouse arts district of downtown JC. The Hudson County expansion of Happy Dayz will mark its second location — the other storefront is at 1655 Oak Tree Road #260 in Edison. According to Jersey Digs, the spot recently put up signage at the Jersey City location, including one that reads “Grand Opening Coming Soon”. The outlet also reported that Happy Dayz will be located inside the westernmost storefront along the Morgan Street side of the Hilton property.

The Indian-inspired ice cream spot first opened in Edison in April of 2022, and has since amassed over 10 thousand followers on Instagram. The store doesn’t sell just ice cream — it also serves up shakes, coffee, mocktails, and a variety of food items including vegetarian options. According to the website, Happy Days focuses on flavors that showcase the finest natural ingredients available.

On the ice cream section of the menu, you will find traditional flavors like chocolate brownie, cake batter, strawberry, coffee, and mango as well as a variety of unique Indian-inspired flavors like:
- Bombay Special
- Gujarat Special
- Gulkand
- Kala Khatta
- Kesar Pista
- Paan
- Pani Puri
- Rose
As for the other menu items, Happy Dayz serves wraps, sandwiches, burgers, chicken wings, breakfast items like bagels and avocado toast, and more. Some dishes are Indian-inspired — like the Tandori Chicken Kathi Wrap, Desi Chicken Burger, and Masala Chicken Tenders — and other dishes like the Aloo Tikki Sandwich and Paneer Sandwich are vegetarian.

Some of the drink highlights on the menu aside from the basics include a Twix shake, a Mint Berry Delight Mocktail, specialty coffees like an Iced Pistachio latte and a Dark Chocolate Mocha, a Raspberry Cheesecake Frappuccino, and a variety of special teas like Geisha Blossom.
