Recreational cannabis was legalized in New Jersey in April 2022. Since then, new dispensaries have sprung up all over Hudson County. Hoboken has a maximum of six operating dispensaries allowed in the city at a time, and a new business has taken the fourth slot. About Hudsonica Dispensary
After a lengthy three-year approval process, Hudsonica Dispensary has opened on 15th Street in Hoboken. The business first announced its arrival in late May, posting a series of social media updates showcasing the renovation process of the space, with the caption “Coming soon to Hoboken, NJ.” On June 6th, 2025, this family-owned and -operated dispensary, located across the street from Hoboken Biergarten, opened its doors to the public.

Hudsonica Dispensary has been in the works since 2022, when its application was originally approved under the name “Jersey Joint.” The reason for the name change is that we noticed there were numerous Jersey-related stores and brands, so we decided to change our name completely,” Nehar Patel, a manager at Hudsonica, shared with The Hoboken Girl.

“Hudsonica is inspired by the Hudson County area, and we tried to bring the local culture and lifestyle into the store. Our family-owned business aims to create a new kind of dispensary, making the cannabis shopping experience a fun and enjoyable process.”
The dispensary aims to be a “bridge to everything cannabis,” as per its website. It sells products like flowers, pre-rolls, infused pre-rolls, edibles, mixers, vapes, concentrates, topicals, tinctures, and more.
At this shop, locals can also find knowledgeable budtenders assisting customers in finding the best products suited to their individual needs. “Our team is here to answer your questions and guide you through our product menu, whether you’re a first-time visitor or a long-time customer,” the website reads.

This dispensary will soon provide in-store pickup and same-day delivery, serving customers in Hoboken, Jersey City, Weehawken, Union City, West New York, Secaucus, and North Bergen.
On July 12th, Hudsonica will host a grand opening event from 11AM to 3PM, featuring free tacos from Bro-Ritos Food Truck, a cafe cart from Major’s Mixology Bar + Cheeba Chews, giveaways, prizes, and more.
Hudsonica Dispensary is open Monday through Sunday from 8AM to 10PM.
Hoboken Dispensaries
Hudsonica joins three other dispensaries in the Mile Square, including The Station Hoboken at 86 River Street, Village Hoboken at 516 Washington Street, Blue Violets at 628 Washington Street.
A maximum of six cannabis facilities are permitted in Hoboken at a time, with a maximum of three allowed in each Ward. Hudsonica is now the fourth to open in Hoboken, with room for two more.
