Mayor Bhalla announced that the City of Hoboken launched a pre-registration process for seniors {65 years of age and up} to register for a COVID-19 vaccine appointment. Read on to learn more about the requirements and process laid out by the City.
When New Jersey transitions into the next 1B and 1C phases of vaccinations, the seniors will be eligible. The press release stated, “It has not been announced by the State if the 1B phase will include seniors ages 65 and up or restricted to 75 and up; however, the registration process will allow the City of Hoboken and medical partners, including Riverside Medical Group and Hoboken University Medical Center, to begin scheduling vaccine appointments to seniors without a substantial delay.”

Starting Wednesday, January 13th, seniors ages 75 and up can call the Community Emergency Response Team {CERT} hotline at 201-420-5621 from 9AM – 2PM weekdays} to pre-register if internet access is unavailable. Seniors can also leave a voicemail with CERT at that phone number starting Wednesday by providing first name, last name, age, address, and phone number to pre-register.

The Hoboken Office of Emergency Management, Hoboken Health Department, and CERT will also conduct door-to-door pre-registrations for seniors in the near future.
“We want to make sure that when the day comes for our seniors to get vaccinated, we’re ready to efficiently schedule as many appointments as possible with our medical providers,” said Mayor Bhalla via the press release. “This process is the latest way we as a City are prioritizing the health of our most vulnerable populations, and I encourage all seniors or family and friends of seniors to pre-register online as soon as possible.”
